Pudding Pop Milkshake

Fans of Pudding Pops, rejoice!  I’m sharing a recipe for Pudding Pop Milkshakes that is every bit as good as the original popsicles.  No waiting on freezing — just mix these up and enjoy!

Pudding Pop Milkshake -- a recipe for a milkshake that tastes like drinking a Pudding Pop!

Can we talk about Pudding Pops for a minute?

They were like…one of the highlights of my childhood.  Granted, they were just frozen pudding, but still.  When I was in the first grade, my friend Copycat Julie was always put on a diet by her parents, so we would sneak to her cellar and eat piles of Pudding Pops from the freezer they kept down there.

Does it get better than piles of contraband Pudding Pops?  No, friends.  No it does not.

I don’t understand why the Jell-O people stopped making them.  Everyone loves them.  How hard is it to freeze some factory manufactured pudding and sell it?  Come on, Jell-O people, do you see what you’ve done?  A whole generation of children who have no appreciation for Pudding Pops, that’s what.

How do I live in a world where you can buy green smoothies and kale chips, but Pudding Pops are nowhere to be found?  Talk about injustice.  Everyone is all blah blah Obama Administration, blah blah Constitutional rights, blah blah healthcare, and I’m like…seriously, people?  All that is wrong with the world is apparent by the abundance of kale and lack of Pudding Pops in my local Walmart.

Why do we make things so complicated?

Pudding Pop Milkshake Post Image

Sometimes when I complain about Pudding Pops (yes, this is a thing that happens on the regular), people always remind me that I can make my own.  Like that’s the same.  Sometimes, I just want to reach into a box and grab something that someone else made.  And by sometimes, I mean most of the time.

I’m saving my energy for more important things, like kissing my babies and picking out all the grape Skittles and complaining about things.  So?

Since Pudding Pops are OBVIOUSLY not happening anytime soon, I decided to make a Pudding Pop milkshake.  All the fun and flavor of a Pudding Pop, but you can drink it and also, you don’t have to wait for it to freeze.

Life. Changing.  That’s what these are.  Try one or seven.  No regrets!!

I’m so with you! Pudding pops were the best thing ever. I love that you’ve recreated the flavors in a milkshake. So smart!

I was just complaining about the lack of pudding pops a few weeks ago. I just don’t get it. Can we create a petition or something? In the meantime, these milkshakes are the perfect substitute.

Oh. My. Gosh. Pudding Pops! Yes! I’d eat piles and piles of them. They were the BEST popsicle! I was so sad a few years ago – I was going to have a whole mom-daughter moment and introduce Jordan to her first pudding pop, like a right of passage. And then realized they didn’t make them anymore. It was one of the worst days!

    Pinned, obvi. :)

Ok I’m not sure which I’m more aghast at learning; that your friend’s parents put her on a diet in first grade, or that they then kept Pudding Pops in their freezer she could get into! Hopefully she recovered from that childhood trauma and I love that you have resurrected your beloved Pops into a new form….that sound delicious!

I miss pudding pops. I mean, how can we stop making a product that has Bill Cosby as the spokesperson. I think I need a milkshake.

I haven’t had a pudding pop in years! I bet these milkshakes were amazing!!

Ok, so one of my favorite childhood memories was going to my Grandpa’s house and eating Pudding Pops every single time in his backyard. I definitely miss those and would stockpile my freezer if they every came back. For now though, I see the need to make one of these yummy milkshakes every day this summer to bring back the pudding love!

AMEN to that! Where have all the Pudding Pops gone? Sigh. Totally amazing and I miss them. How can I get a bubble tea and yet no Pudding Pop?

The story about you and your friend made me laugh. I hide in the basement and eat fudgsicles so I won’t have to share them with my kids. Evil, maybe, but a mom needs to recharge somehow. These pudding pop milkshakes could become a staple for us. Great idea!
