L’Oreal Infallible foundation review — it promises 24 hour wear, but does it live up to the hype?
You might remember that I started a series of foundation review posts last Summer. I am a make-up junkie but always have trouble finding a great foundation. I never buy a foundation without reading reviews…and I realized that you might be the same way!
So I decided to start reviewing them myself. It’s like the kind of public service Lindsay Lohan would have done if she got to choose. But I’m not a criminal and she is, so I get to do foundation reviews and she had to pick up trash.
That’s life, people. Life is hard.
I kind of fell of the foundation review wagon, but after taking a look at most common Google searches that brought people to my site…it was foundation reviews.
Not cake. Not cookies. Foundation.
So, I’m bringing them back! I’ll do one a month, nothing crazy, but enough to maybe help you find the foundation of your dreams.
And don’t we all dream of gorgeous, glowing, flawless fake skin?
This month, I’m going drugstore.
What it promises: Air-light texture with a demi-matte finish. A super gliding mattifying formula with a high water content for maximum comfort that lasts. Contains Shine Defy Blotting Spheres that act like blotting paper to mimic makeup artist gesture, instantly absorbing sweat and oil without disturbing color pigments. Medium coverage.
Pros: The price, for one. At $13, it’s on the higher end for a drugstore foundation, but still a fraction of the price of department store brands. I LOVED the way this felt going on — light and almost mousse-like. The coverage was great — it’s firmly in the medium category. It made my skin look great and I honestly couldn’t tell a huge difference between it and some of the higher end foundations. I looked made up without looking over-done.
Cons: I didn’t wear this for 24 hours, but i can say with a good deal of certainty that it would not last half that. You’ll look reasonably fresh through an 8 hour work day (provided you aren’t sweating all day), but expect to need a touch up after work or in the evening.
Here are a couple of photos I took right after application:
As you can see, I took this photo holding my phone up above my face. Thus making me look skinnier and hiding any chance of a double chin.
There was some light coming in from a nearby window but I did not use a filter or do any editing to these photos. It’s just my regular ol’ face.
Here is how the foundation looked about 7 hours later:
As you can see, my eye make up has started to smear a bit and my lipstick has rubbed off. And I’m smiling and pretending that my toddler hasn’t spent the day fraying every last nerve in my body.
But the foundation still looks pretty good!
Me again! Hi guys! (sparkly eye shadow is THIS)
All said and done, I really liked this foundation. I’d use it again for sure! But if you’re looking for something that will look natural or stand up all day to the Summer heat…this is probably not the one.

Any other foundations you’re curious about? Let me know and I’ll get it on the list to review!
