This cool and refreshing Frozen Cherry Limeade Pie is the perfect dessert for saying goodbye to Summer!

So, I know we’ve pretty much given Summer a premature farewell, but I couldn’t truly say goodbye without a proper send off.  This Frozen Cherry Limeade Pie is actually an update of an old recipe, but with a few tweaks.

Cherry Limeade is one of my favorite drinks from Sonic. I’ve heard that there are places that don’t have Sonic, but I refuse to believe that this is a possibility.

It just seems like if that were really so, there would be picketing and Facebook pages dedicated to the cause. Because hello, Cherry Limeades and Cheese Tots and Peanut Butter Fudge Milkshakes and Chili Cheese Coneys. Everyone deserves those things in their lives, it’s just a basic human right.

As much as I love the Peanut Butter Fudge Milkshake, I most often order Cherry Limeades because milkshakes have like a billion calories. It’s a true fact. There’s like a whole gallon of ice cream in every shake, it’s so deceiving, like dark magic or something.

My son orders milkshakes all the time though because he’s 9 and calories fall right out of his butt. It’s so ridiculous, the way he drinks shakes and literally just stays the same size.

If you ask me, it’s kind of smug. But kids are just kind of smug in general. It’s their thing, I guess. Being all energetic and bendy and drinking all the calories like it’s a normal way of life.

Whatever kids. Whatever.

This pie is such a great recipe to have in your repertoire — it’s creamy, tart, super simple to throw together, and a crowd pleaser. This is one of those desserts I throw together when I’m short on time. It’s so easy to double, too!

Frozen Cherry Limeade Pie

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 graham cracker pie crust (I used store bought, but I've been known to make my own from time to time...whatever floats your boat)
  • 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 12 oz container frozen whipped topping
  • 6 oz frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
  • 1 small jar maraschino cherries, drained, rinsed, and sliced into halves
  • Additional whipped topping to top pie, if desired

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, fold together the whipped topping and sweetened condensed milk. Fold in the limeade concentrate (I add a couple drops of green food coloring if I'm feeling festive). Fold in the chopped cherries until mixture is smooth and combined. Pour into pie crust and freeze for several hours, until firm.

Enjoy, friends! Have a great day!

Ok, so I have to drive a good 30 minutes to get to my closest Sonic. You’re right…I think I need to start a facebook page for this. It’s UNFAIR!!!!
And also, the amount of ice cream that is in an actual milkshake is out of hand. I read a recipe for one the other day and it only had 1 cup of ice cream…I was like IS THIS A MILKSHAKE FOR ANTS?
Anyhow. Pie for the win. love it.

It’s so funny because I just heard someone else recently rave about the Cherry Limeade from Sonic and I’d never even heard of it! We have a Sonic but I haven’t gone there once! Now I will have to. I need to see what the hype is about!

Yes, it’s only just 9/2, but summer totally over. This is a perfect dessert for giving it a farewell. Looks so light and refreshing!! Thank you for sharing!

I live in northern New Jersey and we only have a handful of Sonics up here! The closest one to me is in Paramus, which is about 20-25 min away. It is a real treat though, if we happen to pass by one and my husband always insists on stopping!

I do love me some Sonic, but I hear ya on the calories in the milkshakes. It’s totally not fair that kids can drink that stuff and not gain an ounce! I look at a milkshake and gain like 5 lbs. Love this fun summer pie send off. There is something so fun about the cherry lime flavor!

It’s a true story. I live in Western NY and we do not have a Sonic. I’m almost 39 (again :)) and I’ve NEVER been to a Sonic. Feel free to feel sorry for me starting… NOW!

Kind of ashamed to admit that the only thing I’ve tried at Sonic is an ice cream cone. Plain vanilla… Sad, isn’t it? Not to make excuses, but Sonic is fairly new to our area, so I wasn’t really sure what to order. Next time I’ll have to give the Cherry Limeade a try… Loving your pie!

I used to eat pies after writing homework in college. And I found really useful advices on https://college-homework-help.org/blog/homework-pros-and-cons about it.
