My nine year old son is too cool for cute food. He wears basketball shorts to bed now (what is the point of shorts when they come halfway down your calves, they’re basically PANTS) instead of adorable PJ’s and calls everyone dude. Boys that call people dude and wear basketball shorts don’t eat adorable food.
It’s a sad, sad situation, friends.
Lucy McGoose is still a bit young for a lot of foods. This is mostly because I’m a hypochondriac about her choking. It’s true. I cut all her food into the tiniest mouse sized pieces while my family looks at me like I’ve lost my mind.
Whatever. I’m the boss of myself and whoever pops out of me so I don’t even have a care about it.
Unfortunately, this means that I don’t have anyone to eat adorable treats. And I’ve had the cutest, simplest Valentine’s Day treat on my mind for awhile.
It’s good, right? Who doesn’t like S’mores?
Aliens, that’s who.
When I used to do cakes out of my home I was often asked to make treats for preschool Valentine’s Day parties. I usually made cupcakes or brownies, but I wish I had thought of this then. So cute and easy and fun and no messy frosting faces.
Although I think we can agree that toddler frosting faces are the cutest thing that ever happened.
My friend Anna made these adorable bag toppers. They fit perfectly on the top of a snack sized Ziploc bag. I used snack sized because I think regular sandwich bags would hold too much, and you wouldn’t get many Valentines out of a batch.
The back of the labels has spots to write To: and From: so they are perfect for giving to classmates or friends.
Or me. Who may or may not have eaten 4 of these last night. With wine. (it was a good pairing, if you are curious)
