Can you believe I’m 33 Weeks already?
Days lately have been a blur. I’m busy trying to get blog stuff in order so I can take some time off with the baby but still have recipes to share and be able to visit with all of you. I’m also busy making lists (I’m a weird organizing person) and making sure all loose ends are tied up. I’m also making sure that I have everything I need for Lucy’s arrival.
Last week I bought the stroller and baby monitor, only a few things left!!
My husband talked me into hiring someone to come once a week and clean the house. Honestly, I don’t know how I feel about this. My house is relatively small (about 1900 sq ft) and nothing big or fancy, but I am a little daunted at the prospect of working from home, having a baby, and raising an 8 year old boy. So I’m going to try to set my control freak-ness aside and see how it goes. So when you wonder how I’m managing a house, a newborn, raising a little boy, cooking meals for my family and running two blogs, please know that I will be having a little help. I’m not a robot or superhuman by any means.
Pregnancy wise, everything is going great.
My stomach has grown tremendously in the past few weeks, and dropped quite a bit. I can definitely notice a change in Lucy’s size and how she moves!!
She’s definitely an active little thing, and while I complain at how ROUGH she often is, it’s reassuring to know that she is there and doing well.
With that being said, back aches are frequent, as is heartburn (STILL) and exhaustion again. It disappeared through the Second Trimester, but I’m back to being wiped out by late afternoon.
Which, incidentally, is when I go pick Jon David up from school. So… you can imagine how THAT is working out for me.
My doctor is very happy with my progress, he says my pregnancy is “boringly normal”. My appointments are short, my blood pressure is great, and I’ve steadily been gaining exactly a pound a week for the past several months.
By the time this is all said and done, I will have gained about 30 pounds. My weight gain isn’t really something I worry TOO much about — with Lucy coming right before the holidays, I plan on giving myself plenty of time and rest before I worry about being my pre-baby weight. With that being said, of course I want to stay within healthy limits and not gain so much that it makes me feel badly later.
No strange cravings. This week, I have gone through a box of Rice Chex and about 6 Honey Crisp apples, which is relatively boring. I’d love to tell you I was eating pickles dipped in chocolate syrup, but just not happening. Booooooring.
I am now going to appointments every TWO weeks, so I’ll be seeing my doctor again on the 16th. No idea yet on how big Lucy is, I think he’s doing an ultrasound at 36 weeks, which will be around Halloween. Of course, I am really anxious to see Lucy, so I can’t wait!!
Thanks again to everyone who has been checking in, sending gifts, and sending sweet emails worrying about my progress. Sometimes I just get busy and time slips away from me, but I will make sure I stay on top of my updates through the rest of the pregnancy.
Have a very happy Thursday!!
