These poop emoji cupcakes are hilariously accurate!
The poop emoji is my very favorite emoji. My husband says that I can text a whole sentence that explains everything I need to say using only emojis, and he’s right. And the poop emoji is the one I use the most.
A friend bails on plans? Poop emoji. Your husband isn’t answering his phone and you want to complain about the kids? Poop emoji. Out of wine? Poop emoji. Someone poops? Poop emoji.
Honestly, it’s like the universal symbol for anything in life that is gross or doesn’t go the right way. Plus, kids love it.
If you don’t know what emojis are, it’s best to Wikipedia it. I once tried to explain emojis to my husband’s uncle and things got confusing fast. The only thing that is harder to explain is hashtags. Because they don’t make sense at all, yet…they do.
Life is very confusing.
Also, why is there not a vomit emoji? THERE NEEDS TO BE A VOMIT EMOJI. I would use it on Instagram every time someone uses the hashtag, “blessed” because sometimes deep down inside, I am a terrible person. But for now I just have to use the poop emoji, which really doesn’t work at all. People don’t poop when they are disgusted. We all know this.
So now that I have mentioned poop enough times to cover my requirement for the entire year, here’s what you need to make the cupcakes. They are honestly so easy peasy, once I had the idea, I couldn’t NOT do them.
Cupcakes that have been piped with chocolate frosting (use a large round tip like THIS one), candy eyes (I love these ones) and white candy melts cut in half for the mouth. I’m including my recipe for chocolate malt buttercream below, which is what I used for these cupcakes. No food coloring needed! They look AND taste great!
My son is already asking me to make these for his birthday, and he doesn’t even like frosting. Happy poop birthday, son! Kids are weird.
- 2 sticks salted butter
- 1/3 cup heavy whipping cream
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 2/3 cup chocolate malt powder
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- In the bowl of your mixer, beat butter and cream on medium speed until combined. Scrape the sides of the bowl and add powdered sugar, malt powder, and cocoa powder. Beat on medium low speed until combined. Scrape the sides of the bowl, then beat on high for one minute.
Will frost 12 cupcakes as pictured
Enjoy and have a great day!
