We need to have a long overdue discussion.

Yes, I’m going there. On a food blog. But you’ve left me no choice.
I’m not going to go in depth on cleanliness issues, because you already know.
What are we, pigs?
Is it that hard to flush? Do half of us not have opposable thumbs or something, because I am completely confused.
AND WHO STEALS ALL THE LOCKS???
Have you ever TRIED carrying a 20 pound weight around your midsection, while squatting and trying to hold a door shut at the same time?
It’s a desperate situation.
I emerge practically expecting a medal or applause.
Anyways, if we could just use the restroom like normal humans, flush, and leave the locks on the dang doors, LIKE I ASSUME EVERYONE DOES AT HOME, everything should be just fine, right?
On to cake!!
Would you believe that my little guy doesn’t eat cake?
He’s “not a fan of frosting”.
His exact words.
So when we go to birthday parties, guess who walks around bored while all the kids stuff their faces with cake and frosting?
My kid. My kid is the weirdo at your kid’s birthday party. Sorry.
Anyways — I talked him into trying a slice of THIS cake and he was crazy for it. He’s since asked me to make it again, it’s that good.
Oreos, white cake, Oreo pudding, Cool Whip, and more Oreos.
What more do you need from life!
- 1 box white cake mix, plus ingredients to prepare
- 1 package Oreo cookies
- 1 (4.2 oz) box instant Oreo Pudding
- 2 cups milk
- 8 oz container Cool Whip, thawed
- Preheat oven to 350. Butter and flour a 9x13 baking pan and set aside.
- Line bottom of prepared pan with Oreos. Prepare cake batter as instructed on box and pour over cookies in pan. Spread evenly and bake until center springs back when lightly touched, 20 - 25 minutes.
- Immediately after removing cake from oven, prepare pudding: In a medium sized bowl, whisk together pudding mix and cold milk for about a minute or so -- you want it to start to thicken but still be pourable. Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes in the cake, about an inch apart.
- Pour pudding over cake, spreading it into the holes. Let cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate for a couple of hours before serving. Top with Cool Whip and additional crushed cookies.
This cake is so ridiculously easy, and tastes AMAZING. Perfect for any potluck or party, or just a night at home.
