Ghost Cupcake Cones are a super fun twist on classic cupcake cones. Easy to make, a snap to decorate and perfect for your Halloween Party!

Ghost Cupcake Cones

Boo!!

In case you forgot — it’s Halloween week!!

halloweenparty

My friend Shelly and I are teaming up to bring you a whole week’s worth of Halloween inspiration.  We both LOVE Halloween and get so inspired at this time of year!!

Honestly, we contemplated doing more posts this week than we are already doing…but it’s just not humanly possible.  Kids need things and people expect dinner food, and babies get poopy diapers.

TMI?  Sorry.

(Incidentally, Lucy has become an expert at escaping during diaper changes.  I’m sure  you can imagine how that’s working out for me)

Anyways — one of my FAVORITE kinds of treats are the kind that put a tiny spin on an existing classic.

Ghost Cupcake Cones recipe

These little guys are the perfect example!!

I’ve always loved cupcake cones (if you’re not familiar, you bake cake batter in an ice cream cone and frost it to look like ice cream) and I realized that a soft serve type swirl was the perfect shape for a ghost!!

Just add two black sugar pearls (or use frosting) and a bit of black frosting for a mouth and you’re set.

Super duper simple, but I think they are SO cute and fun!!

Candy Corn Cones - Ghost Cupcake Cones

If you REALLY felt like a super mom (or dad…are you guys out there?) you could divide your frosting into three colors and pipe candy corns too!!

I love them both ways.

I am assuming you know how to make ice cream cone cupcakes – just use your favorite cupcake batter (in this case I used a cake mix) and fill flat bottomed cones that have been set in a muffin tin 2/3 full.

Bake like normal and let cool.

Pipe frosting on top.  The frosting recipe I used for these guys is HERE.

I used THESE piping tips and THESE black sugar pearls for ghost eyes.

That’s it!!  Super duper fun and relatively inexpensive.

**Now pop over to Shelly’s site — she made an AWESOME Vampire Bat Cake — I LOVE it!!**

Don’t forget — we’ll be having a link up Friday, so have your Halloween recipes ready!!

Enjoy and have a great Tuesday!!

Great idea! Do you have ideas for how to transport and then serve these while keeping them upright?
    Thanks!

I don’t…maybe stuffing cupcake tins with foil to keep the cones upright in them?
