These Butterfinger cupcakes are loaded with peanut butter and Butterfinger candy bars! Perfect for any candy or peanut butter lover in your life!
Oh friends. These cupcakes are really something.
There is a local bakery that sells a Butterfinger Cupcake that basically makes me want to die from it’s goodness. It’s so fabulous, I mean really. Also, it’s gluten free, which is weird because I’m a glutenaholic, but I still love it. You don’t even miss the gluten, which is a thing I never thought I’d say.
So I decided that I needed to recreate the cupcakes for two reasons: Because I felt like it and also because Halloween is coming before we know it and you’ll want to chop up some of that leftover Halloween candy and bake with it.
Yes, I said Halloween.
Haters gonna hate, but it will be here in two months, which is basically a blink. I honestly never understand when people get uptight about jumping the gun on holidays. They are all, “just enjoy the season you’re in NOW!!” and I’m like, “For real, it’s August. Enjoy what, exactly?” My joy cannot be put in a box, okay?
My joy CAN, however, be put in a cupcake. Especially when it’s a cupcake loaded with one of my favorite candy bars in the entire universe. I feel a little bit like Stefon on SNL when describing these cupcakes: These cupcakes have EVERYTHING. You’ve got peanut butter cake with chopped Butterfingers in it, peanut butter frosting, chopped Butterfingers on top of that, and Nicholas Cage in a corner, smoking cigars and describing his proposed sequel to City of Angels.
That was weird. If you don’t watch SNL, ignore all of that. Sorry.
Make these SOON!!
Feel free to substitute peanut butter cups or other candy bars for the Butterfingers. If you’ve got a hodgepodge of fun sized candy laying around, a mixture would work too!
