My Lucy Goose turned NINE months old yesterday!!
It is so hard for me to accept that she’s three quarters of a year old. I’m already starting to think about her first birthday — I’m going to be one of THOSE moms. Prepare to roll your eyes and hate me people, because I don’t even care.
Dessert table? Specially made first birthday outfit?
I’m planning an Olivia (the pig) themed party because I just love that character…and Lucy’s little face reminds me of a chubby piglet. Ha!!
(I created a Pinterest board to start pinning ideas for the party this morning. If you’re planning a similar party and would like to contribute to the board, just follow and then send me an message with your Pinterest user name so I can invite you)
Lucy is not crawling yet, but she’s rolling and scooting to get to everything she wants.
I really have to keep a close eye on her. Yesterday she got a hold of a rogue Crunchberry and I nearly had a heart attack.
She’s just started getting up on her hands and knees with her belly off the floor and rocking back and forth, so I suspect she’ll be crawling by the end of the week.
Her babbling is also starting to sound more and more like words. I’m sure a first word is coming soon!! I’m hoping for something profound, but I’m sure it’ll be something totally random that Jon David’s been teaching her when I’m not around.
She’s sleeping great at night and her first nap typically lasts about 1 1/2 – 2 hours, but it’s her SECOND nap that we are struggling with. I’ve tried spacing it out further from her first, feeding her more before I lay her down, getting a good routine into place…nothing.
She typically wakes up from first nap around 12 -1 and I lay her down again at 3:30. Her bedtime isn’t until 7:30 – 8 and EVERYTHING I’ve read says that being up from 12 – 7:30 is too much for a baby her age…so I’m so confused.
Maybe she will never be a two napper kinda girl. I don’t know. The Internets makes me question everything.
Annoying Internets with moms who know ALLTHETHINGS.
Jon David started third grade yesterday!!
We miss having him around the house, but I’m totally enjoying the quiet time when Lucy naps.
Also, I get to watch whatever I want on TV that’s NOT Adventure Time.
Jon David went from dreading school all Summer, to trying to get us to drop him off at school an hour early.
He came into my bathroom yesterday at 7 am while I was putting make up on and was trying to say goodbye. I was like…um? I am walking you to school in FORTY FIVE MINUTES.
Then he got all annoyed and went and played Minecraft until we walked to school and he kissed me goodbye a block before we got there.
My husband and I got the opportunity to renew our vows this Summer through a marriage ministry event held by my church. My friend Jessica planned the whole thing and took this photo…we had so much fun!!
This is unrelated to the children, but I feel the need to prove that my husband is actually a real human that exists. So, there’s that.
That’s it — I can’t wait to see how much Lucy has changed by next month’s update. I mean, I’ll probably cry and eat all the chocolate, but whatever.
Have a great Tuesday!!
