Simple Cupcake Toppers and NEW Silhouette Double Sided Adhesive

Let’s talk about crafting for a minute.

First off, I love to craft.

However…I do not have a lot of TIME for crafting at the moment.  Obviously.  Babies don’t really like their moms to have hobbies and things — true story.

Anyways.  You might remember last year on Black Friday, when I shared a special Silhouette Coupon Code with you guys.  I had my eye on a Silhouette machine for such a long time, and the people there were nice enough to send me one to try.

I LOVE it.  LOVE LOVE LOVE.  You can do SO much with it!!  Cards, scrapbooking, cute tags for gifts, I even used it for the lettering on Jon David’s Science Fair project board.

So when I got an email about a new Silhouette Double Sided Adhesive, I was really anxious to try it and give it a whirl.  However…I know that i don’t have a ton of time these days.

That’s why these adorable cupcake toppers are perfect.  I whipped them up in no time, with Lucy sitting right next to me in her bassinet.

The kit comes with double sided adhesive sheets, a Silhouette spatula, a brush, glitter and flocking powder, and a card that  you can redeem for several exclusive designs.

Making these toppers was so simple, and I loved the new double sided adhesive.

Just load the double sided adhesive into the Silhouette, and cut out your hearts.  Stick the adhesive hearts to cardstock circles, peel off the back, and brush glitter or flocking powder onto the adhesive.

I love the fuzzy texture of the flocking powder, don’t you?

Gorgeous and simple.

I have a circle punch cutter that I used for the cardstock circles, but you could also use your Silhouette for that part.

Once all your circles are done, stick them to lollipop sticks (you can buy them at hobby stores or HERE) with adhesive and insert them into cupcakes.

This adhesive was much neater than glue, and the possibilities are endless — you can cut out any shape or font you download onto your computer.

Want to get your own Silhouette or just an adhesive starter kit?

Go HERE and use the code CONFESSIONS to get a Silhouette Portrait and Double Sided Adhesive Starter Kit for $179.99 OR just the Double Sided Adhesive Starter Kit for 12.99.

This code is good today through Feb 14th (Valentine’s Day) and would make an EXCELLENT Valentine gift to yourself, in my personal opinion.

Feel free to email this post right along to your husband.  I mean…I’m here to help.

Enjoy and have a happy weekend!

Thanks for reading!! I put lots of love into this post, so if you enjoyed it, please leave a comment, share, or subscribe. (As you can probably tell, I'm in constant need of validation, so this keeps me from questioning my self worth and crying into a box of wine) If, by some chance, you didn't enjoy the post, take it up with my personal zombie ninja.
About Kristan
I’m a proud housewife with a son in the second grade and a sweet baby girl. Like most little boys, my son funny and cute but a little weird. Which only makes me love him more. And the baby? Well...I know she'll sleep eventually. If I could, I would paint my life pink, sprinkle it with glitter, and give everyone a cupcake.

as always, i love your project!!!! i have a question for you about the double sided adhesive……..i don’t have the silhouette but i do have the cricut. do you think i could use the double sided adhesive with the cricut (now i don’t know much about the silhouette, so i may be completely wrong, but it looks like this could be similar to the cricut). thank you for any information you might be able to share.

That’s so weird…I checked the link, and it’s the one that Silhouette provided for the special offer, but for some reason it’s not working at the moment so it’s redirecting back to my site. I put an email in to my contact and hope to have it fixed within a few minutes. The Silhouette is really great, I think you’d love it!!

I am so not a crafter. My stuff comes out looking like a 2nd grader did it. But these are super cute, and make me wish I could craft!

Love this idea! I am debating between the models of this machine: portrait or cameo. Would I be happy with the portrait? I love the price!

Glitter. I love it, it doesn’t love me. Drifts and drips everywhere, clothes, rugs, dog, cat. Still finding it months later. Do you have any solutions? This are so cute but like I said: I’m afraid, very afraid.
