I would probably use it for 2 things. Cupcake toppers and also, my BF may be getting deployed soon (Army) and I plan on making him a scrapbook of things that go on while he is gone. This would come in really handy!

Congratulations, Jennifer!!  Please email me at cookbookqueenblog(at)gmail(dot)com with your full name and address.  Thanks so much to everyone who entered.  There’s still time to take advantage of the discounts, just scroll down for the link and code!!

Aren’t these just the cutest?

I know I’ve mentioned before that I love my Silhouette machine.

If you’re not familiar with the Silhouette, it’s a cutting machine that hooks up to your computer.  Not only can you purchase images from the Silhouette site, but you can also cut out anything you download from the internet — that includes fonts.  The Silhouette software allows you to arrange the images exactly how you want on  your paper, and size them to exact measurements.

Most people think that you have to be a scrapbooker or particularly crafty to enjoy such a machine, but I love using mine for baking projects the most.

Because there are hundreds of images available for me to download to my Silhouette library (most for only $.99), it only takes me a minute to find something cute that would make the perfect cupcake topper.  Way better than being limited to the cupcake toppers I can find in stores or online!!  And even better — I can make exactly how many I need.

Because March starts TOMORROW (already?!), I’ve had Easter on the brain.  So I decided to make some cute toppers to inspire you to get yo Easter on!!

I’m loving the vintage look lately, so I decided to go shabby chic with some plaid card stock and vintagey ribbon.

I purchased the bunny images from the Silhouette site — the set was $.99 and I shrunk them down to the perfect size for cupcake toppers.

I distressed the edges of the bunnies with some brown ink.  Just run the edges along the ink pad, easy peasy.

I added some self adhesive pearls to their cute little tails (you can find these in the scrapbooking aisle of your craft store), and stuck the bunnies to wooden sticks using some adhesive.

Tie on a bit of ribbon and you’re done!!

If you don’t own a Silhouette yet, things are about to get good — I’m sharing a coupon code for my readers to buy one at a discount!!

Aaaaaaaaaand….I’m giving one away!!

blogger-promotion-2-28

Now through March 8th, go to THIS LINK and use the code CONFESSIONS for any of the discounts above.  Take advantage — they are some really great deals!!

And if you’d like to try your hand at winning a Silhouette portrait, just leave a comment on this post letting me know what type of projects you’d use it for the most.  Holiday cards?  Home decor projects?  Cupcake toppers?  I’d love to hear some great ideas!!

I’ll be taking entries today through March 3rd at 11:59 pm.  The winner will be chosen at random and announced HERE at the top of this post.  I will also attempt to contact the winner via email, so check back here and check your emails on the 4th!!

If you don’t win (boo), you’ll still have four days to take advantage of the great discounts!!

I hope you enjoy the cupcake toppers and good luck — I hope you win!!

** I was not paid for this post.  I was provided with a Silhouette Cameo for review, but all opinions are my own.

Thanks for reading!! I put lots of love into this post, so if you enjoyed it, please leave a comment, share, or subscribe. (As you can probably tell, I'm in constant need of validation, so this keeps me from questioning my self worth and crying into a box of wine) If, by some chance, you didn't enjoy the post, take it up with my personal zombie ninja.
About Kristan
I’m a proud housewife with a son in the second grade and a sweet baby girl. Like most little boys, my son funny and cute but a little weird. Which only makes me love him more. And the baby? Well...I know she'll sleep eventually. If I could, I would paint my life pink, sprinkle it with glitter, and give everyone a cupcake.

These cupcakes are adorable! I love that you always learn how to tie in crafts with food. I would use the Silhouette portrait to help with my own cupcakes. My dream is to own my own bakery and this would help me get one step closer to that. I also found out that I am expecting today after many months of trying, and one miscarriage, so this machine would help me decorate my sweet baby’s room and allow me to spoil it and give it all the cute things it deserves :)

I love doing crafts and have tons of various shape paper cutters. The Silhouette would be a great alternative, so it doesn’t take up so much space. I use them for everything! I love planning events for friends and family, like birthdays, baby showers, and bridal showers. These paper cutters save time in doing party favors and personalized thank you cards! I’ve also used them for home decor, adding them to plants and flower arrangements.

Awesome giveaway! LOVE what you did with the cupcakes too!! I have a list a mile long on what I could use the Silhouette for, but my first project would be to make a sign for my kithen that says “Come Eat Y’all!” Nothing like sharing a little southern hospitality!

I would love to win one of these. I have so many home decor ideas in my head, especially for my boys’ rooms that I want to finally create. But I would love to have a silhouette to make the projects so much easier to tackle.

I would love to win a Silhouette because I love making all sorts of DIY crafts! However, my mom has wanted one since they came out and I would definitely give it to her if I won. As most moms, she is my role model and hero and I would love to give her a gift she wouldn’t buy for herself! Either way, Kristan you are so talented. Thank you for writing your inspiring blog!
