Sparkly Spider Cupcakes

I was at Target the other day, looking for things I don’t need, when I came across these adorable Spider Cupcake Stands.

Of course, I had to buy them.  I am convinced that Target specializes in mind control — they probably pipe it into the popcorn smell, which is totally hypnotizing.

And the Starbucks and ICEE machine on the way out?  Well played, Target.  Well played indeed.

Anyways, I bought the Spider Cupcake Stands (which were with the Halloween baking supplies), and when I got home I realized that I didn’t know what I was going to do with them.

Buy first, think later, that’s my motto.  My husband LOVES it.  Sike.

Then my husband suggested that I make cupcakes that look like spiders.  So I did.

If you need a cute and easy Halloween cupcake, these are for you.  The cupcake stands add to the cuteness, but you could always forgo the stands and insert some black liquorice strands in the top sides of the cupcakes.

Just make sure that you do four on each side.  Because spiders have 8 legs. And if you only do six your son will tell you that you made an insect, not a spider and you will get angry.

Frost your cupcake (I used purple and green) and sprinkle on Disco Dust (optional).

The head is a mini Reese’s cup turned on it’s side, frosted black.  You can buy candy eyes HERE or at Target or Walmart…both have them in the Halloween baking aisle, as well as cherry flavored black licorice strands.

You can buy Disco Dust HERE.

These are so fun and easy — enjoy and have a happy Thursday!!

Thanks for reading!! I put lots of love into this post, so if you enjoyed it, please leave a comment, share, or subscribe. (As you can probably tell, I'm in constant need of validation, so this keeps me from questioning my self worth and crying into a box of wine) If, by some chance, you didn't enjoy the post, take it up with my personal zombie ninja.
About Kristan
I’m a proud housewife with a son in the second grade and a sweet baby girl. Like most little boys, my son funny and cute but a little weird. Which only makes me love him more. And the baby? Well...I know she'll sleep eventually. If I could, I would paint my life pink, sprinkle it with glitter, and give everyone a cupcake.

Super fun, super easy. Like shopping and buying things you don’t need (for me, that’s always happening; weird). Love these, Kristan!

Um yeah, that popcorn smell in Target is basically like a drug.
Actually Target altogether is a drug.

    I need to go there.

LOVE!! Glitz and glam spiders FTW! The vibrant colours are awesome and I’d totally buy those spider legs cupcake stands too, way too cool. We don’t even get a Halloween baking aisle in the UK. Have to go to specialist cake decorating stores to even get Halloween sprinkles. Le sigh.

I managed to snag two packs of these cupcakes stands on clearance the day after Halloween. I’m already looking forward to making these next year!
