Friday Fun!! Friday Fun!!

It’s Friday!!

This week, I did lots of stuff.

I made food.

I ate food.

And I’m 28 weeks pregnant!!

So far, everything is great, aside from being uncomfortable and having some back pain.

I’m gaining about a pound a week and all my blood tests and glucose test have been just fine.  I have a doctor appointment next week, but I don’t expect they’ll do much other than measure me, weigh me, check my blood pressure, and listen to Lucy’s heartbeat.

I am so ready for her to get here because it seems like I have been pregnant FOREVVVVER.  But I try to remind myself that being pregnant with this baby girl is something I’ll only have once, so I need to try to enjoy it and not be in such a hurry.

Also, yesterday I came home and turned on the TV and it happened to be on TLC…which was airing A Baby Story.  I should’ve changed the channel, but I didn’t, and now I’ve decided that instead of giving birth the normal way, I’m just going to wait a super long time and maybe she’ll learn to teleport outside of my body or something.

Other news — Jon David has recently become obsessed with Beyblades.  Honestly, I don’t understand the appeal, but I used to collect Garbage Pail Kids cards, so what do I know?  Anyways, I trip over the things constantly now.  I worry that he’s going to have a tough time adjusting to keeping the floors cleared of small objects once his sister gets here.

And in an embarrassing turn of events, I broke down and watched Honey Boo Boo this week out of morbid curiosity.  And research.  It was in the name of RESEARCH!!

Seriously…is this family for real?  I mean, living in Arkansas, I’ve seen my fair share of crazy but nothing even close to the madness that is the Honey Boo Boo Family.

Of course, I did other stuff this week besides grow a baby, trip over toys, and watch questionable television.

Wanna see?

I made Honeybun Cake!!

You need it in your life, like, yesterday.

Fall is just around the corner, y’all…can’t you smell it?

I’m sharing my favorite nude eyeshadows for Fall HERE.

Gooey Butter Toffee Cookies.

Do it do it.

The Bachelor Pad — are you watching?  It’s pretty much disgusting and it’s a horrible habit to take up, so if you aren’t watching, you probably shouldn’t start.

But if you ARE….I am talking about the latest episode HERE.

Cupcakes happened.

Aaaaand of course, Shelly and I are sharing a weekly Meal Plan, along with a Friday Cocktail, if you’re into food and drinks and stuff like that.

How was YOUR week?  Any plans for Labor Day?  Tell me about it!!

Have a very happy weekend!!

Thanks for reading!! I put lots of love into this post, so if you enjoyed it, please leave a comment, share, or subscribe. (As you can probably tell, I'm in constant need of validation, so this keeps me from questioning my self worth and crying into a box of wine) If, by some chance, you didn't enjoy the post, take it up with my personal zombie ninja.
About Kristan
I’m a proud housewife with a son in the second grade and a sweet baby girl. Like most little boys, my son funny and cute but a little weird. Which only makes me love him more. And the baby? Well...I know she'll sleep eventually. If I could, I would paint my life pink, sprinkle it with glitter, and give everyone a cupcake.

you have been busy! All that and GROWING a baby human!! I look like a schlump compared to you! But, I am only taking a short break before I head bake to the kitchen to start my marathon of baking. I just got done with 6 pans of scotcheroos-to be delivered here very shortly! Then I have 11 sheet cakes, 4 dozen cupcakes, a Bride and Groom cake , and the centerpiece cake to do. Hoping to be done by midnight!! Anyway…Honey Boo Boo….there really are no words. I know I shouldn’t watch, but it’s like a train wreck, and you just can’t help yourself! Have a great weekend! I know I will once all this crazy baking is done! =)

Beyblades. What can I say? I used to be able to tell my six year old that he couldn’t have them because he’s not 8 yet. Somehow he got one and he’s completely addicted. Beyblades is also on cartoon network and on demand on our cable. Since he can work the tv better than me, I’ve seen more episodes than I want to. My only saving grace is that I’m so snarky he gets tired of watching with me and will play with something else. Is that mean or ingenious? ;-) oh, and good luck ever going to Target again–they have quite a selection of the little buggers. Who knew there were so many different kinds of Beyblades?! Have a great weekend and enjoy your pregnancy! I kind of miss it now that we’re done.

Could someone explain Beyblades to me? I looked them up on Amazon and it’s still a mystery. Also, I’m going to immediately google Honey Boo Boo . Clearly I live under a rock. This week I joined Twitter then sent what I assumed was a funny risque message to a male friend assuming he’d be the only one to see it. My face is still red because apparently it’s out in the Internet to forever embarass both of us. Then again, maybe it’s not???? I did find a webpage purporting to explain to the REALLY DUMB how Twitter works. It’s gibberish to me. I’m sure Jon David could explain it. Right?

I too caved and watched Honey Boo Boo last night. My husband couldn’t handle it and left the room. No worries though I gave him the play by play this morning when he was trapped in the car with me. I can’t watch that kind of crazy and not discuss it!

So, I’m not one to give out unsolicited advice, but I heard this idea (that I never actually used) to use baby gates for the older kid to keep (and play with) his toys in. You know those “cage” type ones where you link several of them together to make an enclosure? The older kid can play with all the tiny toys in it, and not have to worry about picking up every stinkin’ tiny thing he loves. Plus, he’s not banished to his room where tiny things are safer. 2 cents. :o)

I am constantly stepping on and sitting on Beyblades. before that was Ninjagos. before that was Power Rangers and some mini tiny Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. and there is always some some sort of Spiderman in some size, form or shape.

I know its been days since you posted this and that’s basically a century in internet years…but I keep meaning to comment because that photo of you and John David is hands down the most GORGEOUS AND SWEET photo I have ever seen in my entire life. I hope you frame it. It makes me happy to see how much a little boy can love his mother.
