Brownie Cheesecake Sundae Bites

Sometimes I feel like that, as a woman, there is a lot of pressure to be perfect.

Perfect kids, perfect meals, perfectly clean house.

And honestly, sites like Facebook make it even easier for all of us to keep up the ruse.

Look!!  I roasted a chicken perfectly and now we are taking an evening stroll as a family!  AND I’m wearing HEELS!!  See all the photos of how perfect everything is???

Seriously, we all know that the kids probably picked at the chicken while they asked for hot dogs, it’s way too hot out to be walking, and your feet have to be killing you.  Nothing against being happy and living an adorable life, but if you seem too perfect, I do not trust you.

Sometimes, you have to give people a glimpse of the crazy.  It’s true.

However — there is nothing wrong with showing off a little bit from time to time.  But take shortcuts, people!!  No one will even know.

Take this dessert for instance — majorly adorable, and completely easy peasy.  You can throw it together in a jiffy and still have time left to watch your DVR’d episodes of Teen Mom (I have sooooo had it with Farrah).

Stop acting like you don’t watch that junk, ya liar.

Brownie Cheesecake Sundae Bites

Print This Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • 9×13 pan of brownies, baked and cooled
  • Cheesecake Frosting:
  • 1 box Jell-O Cheesecake flavored Instant Pudding
  • 1 cup cold milk
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 oz (half an 8 oz tub) whipped cream cheese
  • 8 oz tub Cool Whip, thawed
  • Cherries, chocolate syrup, and sprinkles for garnish

INSTRUCTIONS

1.  In a medium bowl, whisk together pudding mix, milk, and powdered sugar until thick, about 2 minutes.  Beat in cream cheese until smooth.  Fold in Cool Whip and refrigerate about an hour, until firm.

2.  Using a small circular cookie or biscuit cutter, cut brownies into rounds, cutting as close together as possible.  Eat any and all scraps.

3.  Using a spoon OR a pastry bag fitted with a star tip, pile cheesecake frosting on each brownie bite.  Top with chocolate syrup, sprinkles, and cherries before serving.

Notes:

Keep refrigerated

It doesn’t get much easier or more adorable than this!!

Enjoy and have a happy Monday!

About Kristan
I’m a proud housewife with a son in the second grade and a sweet baby girl. Like most little boys, my son funny and cute but a little weird. Which only makes me love him more. And the baby? Well...I know she'll sleep eventually. If I could, I would paint my life pink, sprinkle it with glitter, and give everyone a cupcake.

So true! The picture-perfect scene just isn’t believable or even that interesting. Give me “I found my child buried under a pile of laundry” stories any day of the week…much more entertaining. Love these simple desserts!

I love that you used that AMAZEBALLS frosting recipe on top of these brownie coins… that frosting is seriously to.die.for. Also, I totally agree. While I’d love to have a perpetually clean house free of dishes, laundry, dust, and DOG HAIR, I can appreciate when people get to see slight glimpses of crazy and disorder here & there… proves we’re not aliens, so when an alien invasion comes, no one will suspect us as being one of them. Right??

People who try and make their lives seem perfect on facebook have bodies buried in their basement. It’s a true fact.
Maybe they could make some of these perfect desserts and slide them under the cellar door.

You have me laughing so hard this morning I almost wet my pants. I wonder why my things don’t always come out so perfect, seriously if Bree Van De Camp can do it all in heels and still look amazing then why are my heels covered in flour because my kid was running through the kitchen and knocked it on the floor? Not sure if I can tell people about the crazy in this house….they may lock us all up.

When I’m old I’ll sit back and laugh at these moments I’m sure.

For now I just want to know how you manage to make all these amazing deserts and still look great pregnant. Seriously I look like a whale and I just gained five pounds from looking at this desert…but now I want it and screw the calories, I’ve gotta send hubby out to buy all the ingredients…lol.

I’m with you on the perfectionism. Way to hard to maintain that expectation on ourselves and others. I blame June Cleaver. But then, there are also those folks that need to tone down the crazy just a titch. Mercy…. sometimes I think it’s just for dramatic effect and then I wonder if it is for real at all.

Okay, these bites are about as cute as any dessert should ever be.

Super easy and super good. I like how people always try to make their lives seem perfect and then you go to their house and it is just plain craziness. I agree that you can show how great your life is, but you should show the crazy and imperfect times too. I makes you seem more real and authentic.

OMG! I have also had it with Farrah…whiny!!! Can you believe how she treats her mother…She will realize one day (amazing that she can’t see it when she is watching herself on the darned show)., when her daughter treats her the same way. As cute as the kid is, she is already becoming snotty and whiny just like her mom!

I agree with you totally!! If you act too perfect, I don’t trust you @ all!! Hell, I show a bit of crazy DAILY, if not hourly. I don’t watch Teen Mom. I don’t have much tollerance for stupid teens, stupid teens with babies?? Who can’t take care of themselves, let alone a child?? NOPE. Can’t do it. It’s hard enough being a SAHM to a 14 yo & a 5 yo @ 37, with a husband who works hard to support us. Can’t handle teens doing it. They should be out with friends, not having babies. :( On that note, the stupidity that is Big Brother?? Can’t get enough!!

I’m not going to lie – this is what perfect looks like in my household right now:

    1. DVRed Batchelor Pad episode on the TV.
    2. DVR currently recording new episode of My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding.
    3. Dishwasher unloaded.
    4. Laundry still dirty.
    5. Cookies and salsa (separately) for breakfast.
    6. Hair = Crazy

That’s the brand of perfection that we enjoy daily here in Casa SB. And now we have some Brownie Cheesecake Sundae Bites to finish our days off – you’re a gem!!

I hope you get more and more sassy during this pregnancy! Let it out, girl! ;) But, you’re right…Facebook can be evil in making me think that “whoo-chee-coo” is SOOO perfect and has such an easy life. Then, I shut my computer and just walk into to her house and see the real deal! Just like the rest of us! :)

I CANNOT watch Teen Mom. Occasionally I want to (it’s like a car wreck, you just can’t avert your eyes from the horror!) but then I get so ANGRY at the stupid kids who are whining about how hard it is to be parents. Ok, so DON’T BE STUPID!
Maybe because I actually believed my parents when they told me that if I got pregnant before I graduated from high school that they would not support me.

IN ANY CASE…these look awesome! (Also, mix those scraps in some vanilla ice cream and you’re golden – or you can bake them in mini muffin tins and pay EXTRA attention to them so they don’t burn and then you don’t have scraps. If you’re one of THOSE people)
