Bake to School Bake-Off {Double Double Doozies}
Soooo…Jon David started Second Grade this week.
No biggie.
I mean, if you need me, I’ll be in my room, NOT sobbing uncontrollably and contemplating the passage of time.
And I DEFINITELY won’t be gazing at his baby photos and screaming “WHY?!?!?! WHHHHHYYYYY????”
Nope. That would be totally weird.
Anyways — if you’re NOT doing any of those things either, and definitely NOT sitting and watching the clock waiting for your kid to get home, I want to tell you about a fun new site dedicated to back to school treats and snacks!!
Best Friends for Frosting and Sprinkles and Grins have teamed up to bring you backtoschoolbakeoff.com, a site that not only shares fun school themed recipes, but is ALSO going to give you a chance to win a year’s worth of dessert decorating supplies!!
I was asked to contribute something fun to fit the back to school theme using product provided from Sprinkles and Grins. I created these fun and EASY double decker cookies using Betty Crocker Cupcake Frosting, Betty Crocker Decorator Icing, and Cake Mate Sprinkles:
What kid WOULDN’T love coming home to a few of these?
Okay, just kidding. My kid would only get one.
I’d eat the rest.
For the full instructions for making this fun treat, click HERE.
If you’re interested in entering the Back to School Bake – Off, click HERE for full instructions. You can submit entries beginning September 4th, so that gives you almost 2 weeks to start brainstorming!!
I hope you enjoy the new site and get some fun inspiration. Have a happy Thursday!!

Thanks for visiting my blog! I realize you could be doing more important things with your time. Like watching the news or washing socks. I hope you stay awhile. Much more fun than socks, I promise.

Wow, these look like quite the treat
These might be too sweet for me, but they sure look good!
Happy TGIFridayEVE!
Are you kidding me with these?!? My child would FAINT if he walked in from school to those beauties! Maybe he’d even CLEAN his ROOM without me asking!!!
This makes me cry a little bit. Tears of joy, my friend.
I think my son will adopt you if he sees your post! And he usually claims that I’m the best baker in the world. That icing and those sprinkles with triple decker cookies?!?!?! He’d con you into a 4th layer probably :p They look like a kid’s heaven of a cookie!
All of the posts from moms this week are so sweet! I never realized it was so hard to send the kids to school. Maybe this is why I’m not a mom yet, hehe. Anyway these, look incredible.
I don’t think you need a child to make these…my hubby would love me just a little bit more :)
YUM! My kids and hubby would love these!
LOL reminds me of a stack of pancakes with syrup running off…and I can eat breakfast for any meal of the day therefore I can eat these for any meal of the day. YUM
