Baby Update and Friday Fun!!

tag : Baby, Friday Fun!! Friday Fun!!

This week, I am 27 weeks pregnant.

Aaaaannndd….yesterday I got to see the baby!!

A few weeks ago, Jon David told me he wished that he could see Lucy.  When we had our 20 week ultrasound to determine the gender, he was so busy trying not to cry (because it was not a boy)  that he didn’t pay much attention to the screen.  So I decided to surprise him by scheduling a 4D Ultrasound so we could take a peek.

Unlike EVERY SINGLE NIGHT, she was trying to sleep.  She had her feet crammed up by her face and kept rubbing her eyes, so it was hard to get a good shot of her face.  But what I did see, she looks like Jon David.  She weighs just over 2 pounds and even has some hair!!

If you look at the ultrasound photo above, her foot is in the top right, her face is top center, and she’s smiling.

Here are a few other photos (forgive the creepy, alien like quality)

Look at that chicken leg!!

Trying to sleep.

Another smile.

Open mouth.

I know it’s a little early to say, but I think she’s going to be absolutely adorable and I can’t wait to meet her!!

If only I didn’t have to give birth in order for her to get here…

Pregnancy wise, I am doing great.  Starving most of the time, heartburney a LOT, sleepless a lot of the time, and TIRED starting around late afternoon.  But I have tons of energy in the mornings and I’m thankful for that.  Jon David and I have been walking to school together in the mornings and it’s nice exercise for me, hopefully I’ll be comfortable enough to continue it for awhile.

I’m also starting to have trouble doing things like tying my shoes.  Or bending over.  Or getting up after I sit in a low chair.

I have a feeling the next 12 -13 weeks will be interesting.

Lucy kicks all the time — she’s strong!!  Last night I sat in bed and watched my stomach ripple back and forth.  Which was kind of creepy.  Cool, but creepy.

Also…Jon David is officially a second grader.

And I officially spend my days staring heavenward and screaming “WHHHYYYYYY GOD,  WHHHHYYYYYY???????????!!!!!!!”

So.

That’s the biggest news for the week, but of course I did other stuff too.

Wanna see?

I made Chocolate Chip Marble Bars.

They’re Amish.  And yummy.

I made Bubblegum Floats!!  Your kids will love them.

Do you love animal crackers?  You won’t believe how easy it is to make them yourself!!

Do you watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey?

If you doooo….can you please pop over so we can talk about the awkward, disgusting mess that was this week’s episode?

Wanna find out how you can win a year supply of baking goodies?  Click HERE to find out!!

Well, I’d say that’s quite a lot, considering that I’m also raising a human AND growing a human.

I also made lots of dinners and did lots of laundry.  I’ve got this new system where I throw one load in every morning, then move it to the dryer and put it away in the afternoon.  It’s kind of a pain, but way easier than dealing with 4 loads at once.  AND I always put it away since it’s not much.

My laundry hampers are now completely empty!!  True story.

I guess that’s about it.  Tell me about your week!!

Hope you have a super fabulous weekend!!

Thanks for reading!! I put lots of love into this post, so if you enjoyed it, please leave a comment, share, or subscribe. (As you can probably tell, I'm in constant need of validation, so this keeps me from questioning my self worth and crying into a box of wine) If, by some chance, you didn't enjoy the post, take it up with my personal zombie ninja.
About Kristan
I’m a proud housewife with a son in the second grade and a sweet baby girl. Like most little boys, my son funny and cute but a little weird. Which only makes me love him more. And the baby? Well...I know she'll sleep eventually. If I could, I would paint my life pink, sprinkle it with glitter, and give everyone a cupcake.

OMG, she has your nose! I cannot wait for this sweet little peanut to make her appearance, she’s simply going to be a beautiful baby.

And I’m so glad you made those animal crackers. I was just frownie faced earlier this week when I realized every store bought version, even Target’s (and they’re usually pretty good about this), has high fructose corn syrup in it. I do my best to avoid that when I can, so hooray for homemade ones!

Yay, those pictures are really neat! I’ve never see a 4D ultrasound picture before. How cool! And congrats on Jon David being a big, tough second grader! He’s going to be the bestest big brother evah. Also, bubblegum floats? Do you want a 21-year old daughter, because I promise I’m really good and I clean the house a lot and I enjoy cooking… :)

Awwww. What a cutie. And so cute that John David wanted to see his new sister. I also wish I didn’t have to go through labor to get my baby. What ever happened to that whole stork concept? That was a good one…

That is most definitely a smile! I LOVED that feeling and sight of my daughter swimming around in my belly. Of course, I didn’t know she was a girl at the time – I chose to wait and be surprised (I know, everyone thought I was crazy, but I love surprises). So glad you’re feeling good and Jon David is excited about his baby sister. Thanks for the updates – us non-preggers can live vicariously through you. :)

That 4D imagining is so neat! We decided not to do it with Liam, because a few of our couple friends who did it, you could hardly see anything. But, yours came out great! I love that you can see her smiles! :D Happy girl to be brought into such an awesome family. Oh, and I was very heartburney my entire pregnancy until my OB put me on daily prilosec. It worked wonders and I stopped having heart burn after that! :D

All that heartburn is so worth all the cute hair, well almost…and I tried doing that laundry technique, but no I prefer to just be sad for an entire day once a week. Plus then I can say things like “I did 8 loads of laundry today” when my husband gets home, otherwise it just looks like I sat around and watched bravo all day.

I am a blubbering fool now, thanks to those amazing pictures of Lucy….I very well remember all of the joy AND sheer terror of my first pregnancy 5 years ago. My little cookie, Isabella, is a strong and beautiful girl now, and i can’t wait to show her your ultrasound pictures! She will be fascinated! I also wish that i hadn’t worried so much about eating because now we know from that Dr. Oz show on the HCG diet, your little cupcake is getting all of the nutrients and vitamins from your stored body fat…who knew?! Just be sure to take a super high quality prenatal vitamin and keep smiling!

When I first looked at the picture of your growing belly, I thought “OMG, she’s carrying low, it must be a girl.” I wonder if that ‘low for a girl and high for a boy’ thing is true. Jon David will be such an awesome brother. A 2nd grader now! Good child spacing, Mom and Dad. I like your laundry idea, something to carry on after Lucy is born. Thanks for the delicious cooking ideas for the week.

    Keep writing…

Awwwww. Too sweet. I looked at her amazing Rockette leg kick and my first thought: Shoes. I was taking a walk by the beach one day and the cutest little girl — maybe 18 mos. old — was walking along and looking and admiring her shoes. So funny. That shoe addiction starts early.
