Friday Fun!! Friday Fun!!
What up, gnomes? It’s Friday!!
This week, I did lots of stuff.
I made food.
I ate food.
I did homework with Jon David eeeeeverrrrry day. Do first graders REALLY need homework? Sigh.
I ate two plates of Doritos with cheese melted on them for breakfast the other day. Seriously. I would have been ashamed, but no one was around to see how much I was enjoying them.
I don’t have my first doctor appointment until May 31st, at which point I will be 15 weeks along. The nurses have assured me that this is perfectly normal, but in the meantime I keep imagining things that could be wrong. Is my kid growing a unicorn horn? The next four weeks are going to be the slowest evvvvvvvvver.
Also, I finally got all caught up on Mad Men on Netflix and have started Season 5. Really, Don?? Your SECRETARY??? I want to be mad at you, but your face is just too handsome to allow it.
I bought tickets early and am taking Jon David to see The Avengers tonight. Since it’s the first day, I’m sure we need to arrive early and wait in line. I’m pretending that this is all for him, but I’m kind of excited myself.
Of course, I did lots of other stuff too.
Wanna see?
I made Blueberry Cream Cheese Coffee Cake. Make it happen, you won’t regret it. Also…it’s low fat!!
Okay, that was a lie. Sorry.
Are you watching The Real Housewives of New Jersey? I’ve got a recap up on That’s What She WE Said. I’ll give you a hint–Teresa and Joe are not winning. Not even close.
I made Raspberry Cheesecake Bars. Life. Changing.
This week on Cocktail Friday, I’m sharing these refreshing Blackberry Sparklers. Caffeine free and alcohol free makes them pregnant lady friendly. But if you’re a party animal, splash in some vodka. Whatevs.
Stuff that caught my eye this week:
Twix Brownies from My Baking Addiction
May The Fourth Be With You (Star Wars Cookies) from The Sweet Adventures of Sugarbelle
Malted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bars from Willow Bird Baking
I am finally going to Tulsa this weekend so my lifelong dream of eating at Cheesecake Factory can come true. I’ll be documenting it on Instagram, if you care to follow. It’s sure to be riveting.
Have a very happy weekend!!

Thanks for visiting my blog! I realize you could be doing more important things with your time. Like watching the news or washing socks. I hope you stay awhile. Much more fun than socks, I promise.

I hope you love the Cheesecake Factory! It’s pretty Awesome. I’ve only been there a few times but I highly recommend the Red Velvet Cheesecake. It’s beyond words!!!
Enjoy Avengers! I’ll be watching it this Sunday!
And yes! Red Velvet Cheesecake is a winning choice! Have fun! ^_^
Your wit makes me smile, the end!!! :)
Ick!! First grade homework!! I always considered it parent training….as in…get the parents ready to do homework with the kiddos every night….it just made me mad at the teacher.
On the bright side, there’s an off-chance you’ll be able to know the sex of the baby at your first ultrasound! I’m 13 weeks. I’m glad I don’t bake/cook as well as you do, I’d be 10,000 lbs. But doritos with melted cheese sound heavenly.
I also have a love/hate relationship with Don Draper! I’m gonna head over and check out those blueberry sparklers right this second ;)
Do NOT look at the calorie book!!!!!!!! It ruins everything.
Cheesecake factory = heaven.
The lunch specials are huge and the red velvet cheesecake is delectable.
Happy Friday! Those raspberry cheesecake bars are seriously calling me. They all are actually. Have a fun weekend.
Uhh, I am SO excited you get to experience the glory that is the Cheesecake Factory. In fact, I’m kind of mad at you for being preggers so you can’t enjoy one of their massive cocktails. Just kidding…I guess the baby is more important. ;) Just get extra cheesecake to make up for it?
Thanks so much for the mention, Kristan! YAY weekend!
hi.
i love you.
have a wonderful weekend!
I think it’s criminal how long doctor’s can wait to get you in for your first appointment. You’re pregnant for heaven’s sake. You think they could put a move on it! Drives me absolutely nuts! All the same, enjoy and try not to worry.
1. First graders should NEVER be doing homework. They need to be outside running around playing with friends. Period. I read a scientic report that said homework didn’t do any good until high school. Parents need to organize, stand up and shout: No homework.
2. Cheesecake factory. I’ve never been and I live within a 1/2 hour drive. Someday, someday. I hope you take tons of pictues and have a yummy evening. A very happy anniversary to the both of you!
You make the yummiest things Kristan!
Don’t even get me started on First Graders having homework!
Hugs and HAPPY weekend!
xo
At the Cheesecake factory- at least the ones here in Los Angeles, they give you warm bread and salted butter before they give you your food. The brown bread is out of this world. Honey Sweet with the salted butter!!!!!!!!!! We would ask for basket after basket after basket.
Order interesting cheesecake. They have so many to choose from.
And of course the menu is HUGE! You should go with a lot of people so you can eat off of their plates. But then you would have to share the brown bread with them.
Never mind that last thing.
Have fun!!!!
So jealous of your Cheesecake Factory trip!! May I recommend an appetizer? Sweet Corn Tamale Cakes, seriously, soooo good. As for the cheesecakes, I can never choose and always make a rushed decision at the end, but I have never been disappointed!! Even have tried to take some home, the one we frequent is in St. Louis, the Chesterfield one, we live 3 hours away, and not one slice of cheesecake has ever crossed the Iowa border with us. Sad. Have fun, enjoy, but most of all, drive safe!!
Aaahhhhh, I have been staring at your links in my inbox wanting so badly to binge/catch up on all your posts, but I have been so stressed/busy. Congrats!!!!!!! I know I am like 10 years late. I’ve never been so excited for a stranger in my life!
P.s. I LOVE Cheesecake Factory! When I lived in Miami I ate there like it was my neighborhood Chili’s. *SIgh the movie theater. I only get to go when my toddler is out of town. Maybe you have more friends than I do and you won’t have to wait until the baby is 5 to go. We bought our daughter some nuggets from McD’s and they smelled like movie popcorn…..only 3 years and 4 months left until we can go again.
Ooo 15 weeks! You can find out the sex then! But those 4 weeks will go by sooo slow. I’d make it go faster with eating some more of those raspberry bars :)
I really need to get on the Real Housewives – I hear so many people talk about these shows, yet I’ve never watched one – not even for a second. Thanks so much for linking to my Twix Brownies. Have a great week!
Ok, I kept waiting….what did you think of the cheesecake factory? Curious…bc, I had really looked forward to my first trip too, and then, well…
