Christmas Crunch Bars
Don’t you think it’s really strange…
…that my husband never answers my texts?
I should have had “answering texts” written into our marriage vows.
Anyways.
Remember last week how I shared those easy peasy Mallo Cups? Well, here is another SUPER simple addition to your holiday candy plates– Homemade Crunch Bars!! I know you can just as easily buy them, but I loved the fun shapes I could do when I made my own.
It really couldn’t be easier, either. You need:
About a pound (16 oz) of candy making chocolate (candy melts, almond bark, etc–I stock up on the big Ghirardelli Candy Making bars they sell at Sams Club…PERFECT for this)
About a cup of Rice Krispies
Assorted cookie cutters
Line a baking sheet with wax paper and place cookie cutters on top. Melt chocolate according to directions and spoon a bit into each cutter, spreading to the edges and filling the shape. Sprinkle with krispies and spoon more chocolate over the top and spread to cover.
Place baking sheet in the refrigerator until candy is set. Trim any excess chocolate from around the edges of the cookie cutter with a paring knife, then pop the candy bars out of the cutters.
I added some mini M&M’s to cute them up a bit and add color. Just attach them with a bit of melted chocolate and a toothpick.
Can you believe how EASY that was? And they’re so adorable.
Thanks for reading and I hope you have a fabulous Monday!!

Thanks for visiting my blog! I realize you could be doing more important things with your time. Like watching the news or washing socks. I hope you stay awhile. Much more fun than socks, I promise.

My husband never answers my texts either! Love these little treats, so easy!
So you just totally proved me to be a liar. I yelled at my husband this weekend that he is the ONLY husband in America that does not respond to my texts….
My husband texts me just to tell me he is pooping while texting me… Wanna trade?
LMAO!! This is why I don’t read this blog and drink liquids! This made me laugh til I cried!
Melissa, we share the same curse. My fiance texts me every time he poops…even if in the same house.
Is this some kind of weird husband trait? My husband texts me when he’s pooping, too. He also like to call people. The bathroom is like his own personal office.
My hubby calls me too. It’s usually from work and the only time we actually “talk” about important things. It’s their thinking spot ;)
everytime your recipes are more delicious than the last one, I love your creativity
I wish my husband wouldn’t text so much. He drives me nuts. I’m not a texter….at all. I hate to text. OH and I love crunch bars.
Can’t get any easier then these. They look Fantastic and I just may be able to get my husband in the kitchen to help out with these. I think he can handle an easy task like this. I will just hide his power tools first.
Thanks for your creativity and inspiration and posting such Awesome recipes
ColleenB.
What do you do with all the yummy treats you make?!?!
My husband never answers my texts either. What’s up with that? So annoying. Anyways, treats look yummy!
I really want to start making every single thing you make!
And my husband never answers my phone calls… wonder which is worse!
My husband has a 3 text limit, he will NOT carry on a conversation with me via text. If I get a response it is usually in the form of “ok” or “yes” or “cool”.
Love these, btw…rice krispies are the perfect food, so added to chocolate, yes please!!
I love that you can use cookie cutters with the candy chocolate. These will be holiday treats for the kids in my hood ;-)
Thanks for such a cute, fun, easy (!) idea.
Love,
Aimee
Would it work out okay of you decorate them while the chocolate is still melty instead of waiting for them to set first? I’m impatient sometimes!
So cute and so easy! I love recipes for homemade candies that are just like the ones we buy in stores! :)
These look incredible ~ can’t wait to make them!
My husband never answers his phone when I call him. And not until just recently did he actually start texting. He used to hate texting and get mad when I would text him. I think it’s just a man thing…..LOL! But those treats look great and super easy! Now I just need to go get some cute cookie cutters to make them! :D Thanks for sharing!
Great fpr the parties I have to go to! Yay! Thank you!
I see cookie cutters!!!!! Woo hoo. Also, I was previously unaware or how in frequently bernie answers my texts. The last eight texts from him say …ya, cool, time?, get Evan, food?, ya, k
Someones getting passivr aggressive silence in
Passive aggressive silence all day….lol
That text is SO awesome lol. As are these cookies :) I’d have to hide them from my kids.
Its such a comfort to know I’m not the only wife out there who has a husband that ignores his wife’s texts. :)
That is exactly how my screen looks with my hubby! So frustrating!
Oh wow–these look great, I think the Christmas treats I’m making have reached the double digits!
I’m gonna try this one :-)
Oh my God, I love you. Like seriously. (In a non-creepy way of course.) I haven’t been able to have Crunch bars in years once they started slapping on the peanut allergy warning. I can’t WAIT to make my own at home!!
Cutest and tastiest trees ever!
Adorable!
that was hilarious! seriously still laughing. Oh goodness you are fabulous. just saying. so in love with these crunch bars. mmmm chocolate.
These are adorable :) Are you seriously watching the Kardashian’s???
I wish I could say no. But dang it this season is gonna be so crazy!!
I usually only post after I’ve made something, and haven’t gotten to make these yet, but your post had me cracking up. I send similiar texts to my boyfriend, but he likes them. I actually think they might be the only reason he’s dating me, a continual textual comedy show.
[...] My post from the other day has had my husband thinking that maybe a marriage vow renewal is in order. [...]
These look super easy and cute!! Thanks for another great idea.
I just gotta’ know. Are those Christmas ornaments in the photo, if so would you be willing to share where you found them?
Yes they are!! They’re very small and I got them online at Shop Sweet Lulu!!
Such cute little treats! They look like a fun activity for kids, too.
Hahahaha…I live the “whoooooo” lol. This is such a great idea!! You could probably make them with anything, right? Like nuts or other candies or whatever you wanted in chocolate. Love it!!
I just clicked my way thru blog world to find you and think I’m gonna have to add you to my list! these are so cute, and how refreshing to have something to do with my cookie cutters besides make the gazillion sugar cookies I have made with them :) fun fun!
So cute and so easy — I made them today. The only thing I can suggest for future makers is to use plastic cookie cutters (mine turned out a billion times better when I could bend the plastic, unlike the stiffer metal ones I used) and make sure to put several layers of Krispies in or you’ll have a really unfortunate ratio. Took me an embarrassingly long time to figure this out.
