Christmas Crunch Bars

Don’t you think it’s really strange…

…that my husband never answers my texts?

I should have had “answering texts” written into our marriage vows.

Anyways.

Remember last week how I shared those easy peasy Mallo Cups?  Well, here is another SUPER simple addition to your holiday candy plates–  Homemade Crunch Bars!!  I know you can just as easily buy them, but I loved the fun shapes I could do when I made my own.

It really couldn’t be easier, either.  You need:

About a pound (16 oz) of candy making chocolate (candy melts, almond bark, etc–I stock up on the big Ghirardelli Candy Making bars they sell at Sams Club…PERFECT for this)

About a cup of Rice Krispies

Assorted cookie cutters

Line a baking sheet with wax paper and place cookie cutters on top.  Melt chocolate according to directions and spoon a bit into each cutter, spreading to the edges and filling the shape.  Sprinkle with krispies and spoon more chocolate over the top and spread to cover.

Place baking sheet in the refrigerator until candy is set.  Trim any excess chocolate from around the edges of the cookie cutter with a paring knife, then pop the candy bars out of the cutters.

I added some mini M&M’s to cute them up a bit and add color.  Just attach them with a bit of melted chocolate and a toothpick.

Can you believe how EASY that was?  And they’re so adorable.

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a fabulous Monday!!

Thanks for reading!! I put lots of love into this post, so if you enjoyed it, please leave a comment, share, or subscribe. (As you can probably tell, I'm in constant need of validation, so this keeps me from questioning my self worth and crying into a box of wine) If, by some chance, you didn't enjoy the post, take it up with my personal zombie ninja.
About Kristan
I’m a proud housewife with a son in the second grade and a sweet baby girl. Like most little boys, my son funny and cute but a little weird. Which only makes me love him more. And the baby? Well...I know she'll sleep eventually. If I could, I would paint my life pink, sprinkle it with glitter, and give everyone a cupcake.

So you just totally proved me to be a liar. I yelled at my husband this weekend that he is the ONLY husband in America that does not respond to my texts….

Melissa, we share the same curse. My fiance texts me every time he poops…even if in the same house.

Is this some kind of weird husband trait? My husband texts me when he’s pooping, too. He also like to call people. The bathroom is like his own personal office.

My hubby calls me too. It’s usually from work and the only time we actually “talk” about important things. It’s their thinking spot ;)

Can’t get any easier then these. They look Fantastic and I just may be able to get my husband in the kitchen to help out with these. I think he can handle an easy task like this. I will just hide his power tools first.
Thanks for your creativity and inspiration and posting such Awesome recipes

My husband has a 3 text limit, he will NOT carry on a conversation with me via text. If I get a response it is usually in the form of “ok” or “yes” or “cool”.
Love these, btw…rice krispies are the perfect food, so added to chocolate, yes please!!

Would it work out okay of you decorate them while the chocolate is still melty instead of waiting for them to set first? I’m impatient sometimes!

My husband never answers his phone when I call him. And not until just recently did he actually start texting. He used to hate texting and get mad when I would text him. I think it’s just a man thing…..LOL! But those treats look great and super easy! Now I just need to go get some cute cookie cutters to make them! :D Thanks for sharing!

I usually only post after I’ve made something, and haven’t gotten to make these yet, but your post had me cracking up. I send similiar texts to my boyfriend, but he likes them. I actually think they might be the only reason he’s dating me, a continual textual comedy show.

So cute and so easy — I made them today. The only thing I can suggest for future makers is to use plastic cookie cutters (mine turned out a billion times better when I could bend the plastic, unlike the stiffer metal ones I used) and make sure to put several layers of Krispies in or you’ll have a really unfortunate ratio. Took me an embarrassingly long time to figure this out.
    xo Josie
