Babycakes Cupcake Maker Giveaway!!

WE HAVE A WINNER!!!

Congratulations Laurette!!  You won the Babycakes Cupcake Maker along with the Babycakes Cookbook of 175 recipes!!  Please contact me at cookbookqueenblog (at) gmail (dot) com  within 36 hours to claim your prize!!

Thanks so much to everyone who entered.  Enjoy your holiday!!

When I was a kid, I was basically obsessed with the Jetsons.

Especially Judy.  WHITE HAIR??  How did she pull it off?  And more importantly, why did I want white hair too??

Anyways.

Remember how all they had to do was push a few buttons on a machine and then a door opened and food came out?

Yeah, I pretty much thought those would exist by now.  I mean…I’m 32.  No conveyor belts…(I still have to WALK everywhere–ugh), no machine that puts my make up on for me…(blah– fixing my face is a chore) and still no food machine.

What’s the hold up?  It’s in the 2000′s PEOPLE!!

But it turns out we’re in luck.  Because a couple of weeks ago, this super adorable and futuristic-ish  machine came to my door.

And it was pink and makes cupcakes.  I died from cuteness.

It’s the Babycakes Cupcake Maker and it’s one fabulous invention.  I would know.  I’m practically a world famous inventor myself.

And see what I mean about futuristic?  Only 5-8 minutes until baked and ready to eat.  That’s practically nothing!! You know what I can do in five minutes?  Nothing.  Except bake cupcakes in my Babycakes.

This cute little machine comes with a piping bag, 4 tips, a recipe booklet, and a pie crust tool.

So along with cupcakes, you can also use the Babycakes Cupcake Maker to bake little individual pies.  I think that’s one of my favorite things about it!!  Little pies are just better than normal pies.  You know they are.

But guess what else was arrived in the mail?

The Babycakes Cupcake Maker Cookbook, which has 175 fun recipes to make using the Babycakes machine.  These recipes vary from sweet cupcakes and mini pies to savory appetizers.  I was a fan of the pretty pink Cherry Cupcakes pictured above.

I even saw in my booklet that you can make little toast cups in the machine using pieces of bread.  Just toast them up in the Babycakes and fill with sloppy joe filling or meat and you have a cute finger food.

I decided to whip up some yellow cupcakes using my new Babycakes.  I used my favorite cake mix and spooned a large spoonful into each tin.  I used special Babycakes liners for half (they don’t come with the machine but you can order them HERE) and made the other half without liners to see how they held up.

About 6 minutes later, they were done!!  The ones that weren’t in liners removed easily from the pans, no biggie.

I frosted mine with canned chocolate frosting (if canned chocolate frosting is wrong, I don’t wanna be right), garnished with sprinkles and they were ready!! So quick and easy peasy.  Jon David was so excited to see the cute cupcakes waiting on a plate when he got home from school.

Then we ate them and pretended to be robots.  It was fun.

Do you want to make cute little treats and pretend to be a robot?  Well guess what?

The nice people at Babycakes want to send one of you a Babycakes Cupcake Maker, along with their Babycakes Cupcake Maker Cookbook.

Want to know how to enter?  Leave a comment letting me know if what you will do with the machine.  Give it as a Christmas gift?  Use it to make little pies for a holiday party?  Make cupcakes with your kids?  I’d love to hear your ideas!!

If you’d like a second BONUS entry, read carefully:

Go “Like” the Plugged Into Cooking Facebook Page HERE and leave a comment on THIS BLOG (not my facebook page) letting me know.  It’s important that you do this correctly because I pull entries from the comment section of this blog ONLY and I don’t want you to miss out.  This is a second entry ONLY and is not required.

This contest is open to US residents only.  I will be taking entries until 11:59 pm on Monday Nov 21.  The winner will be announced Tuesday morning the 22nd.  If I cannot reach you by email after 36 hours, I will draw a new winner.

Oh and in case you’re curious…I’ve named my Babycakes “Pippa”.  YESIMROYALOBSESSEDSO???

For those of you interested in purchasing a Babycakes Cupcake Maker, you can buy them and the cookbook at Kohl’s.  Other retailers such as Bed Bath and Beyond and book stores may have them, be able to order them, or have them on their website for online ordering.

I look forward to reading your entries.  Good luck, guys!!

**I was provided with the Babycakes Cupcake Maker and Cookbook free of charge for review.  All opinions and robot acting are my own.

Thanks for reading!! I put lots of love into this post, so if you enjoyed it, please leave a comment, share, or subscribe. (As you can probably tell, I'm in constant need of validation, so this keeps me from questioning my self worth and crying into a box of wine) If, by some chance, you didn't enjoy the post, take it up with my personal zombie ninja.
About Kristan
I’m a proud housewife with a son in the second grade and a sweet baby girl. Like most little boys, my son funny and cute but a little weird. Which only makes me love him more. And the baby? Well...I know she'll sleep eventually. If I could, I would paint my life pink, sprinkle it with glitter, and give everyone a cupcake.

I saw one similar to this in Target the other day. Shoot, could have been this one for all I can remember. But I was attracted to it because it was pink and cupcake looking! LOL I would love to win this opportunity. I’m not sure if I will keep it for myself or give it as a gift, or maybe donate it to my favorite local charity organization – Preemie Prints – to raffle off to raise money for their NICU projects. But It’s pink and I love it because it is, and it’s cute. Neat neat project!

What wouldn’t I do with a Babycakes cupcake maker?!?! No but seriously, I would never stress again. My little boy has food allergies so I have to make all of his food from scratch. I am in a constant cupcake frenzy, between school parties and spur of the moment birthday parties. I never want him to feel left out so I have baked cupcakes at midnight countless times so he can take his own cupcake to a party. A 6 minute cupcake would make my life so much easier!!

I would LOVE one of these! With 4 daughters, we do A LOT of baking and I am always nervous about them using the oven. Ages 12, 9, 6 and 4. This would be GREAT for them to use! We make cupcakes for everything from birthdays to football games! Every occasion warrants a cupcake! Thanks for the great offer!

We already tried your melted witches (they were a big hit), and are always trying to find something fun to do. Of course baking is number 1! The mini cupcake maker, kind of reminds me of the easy bake oven I used to love when I was a kid.
Second, I am in a wine club that meets every other month. We all bring finger foods to try with different wines. How great to use it to make different appetizers and desserts to take.
Third; this time of year there are cookie exchanges at work, open houses, invited friends, family get togethers…I can see myself experimenting with the mini cupcake maker for all of the above.
I promise to share my ideas if I win!

I mean, little cupcakes I can already make (but totally not in less than 10 minutes!), but baby pies?? Oh my goodness! Can you imagine all the “baby” treats I could dream up?!? Mini cheesecakes… Yummm…. Or some totally awesome baby hors d’oeuvres! (And why isn’t hors d’oeuvre spelled like it’s pronounced? It should totally be or-derve. When you’re queen of the land, you NEED to change that! It’s too complicated!)

I would love to make mini everything. My (new) husband would be the happiest in the land with the eating of all my experiments!

I don’t know if the Babycakes people with fork out for international shipping but I’m stuck in a country that does NOT do cupcakes! Can you believe it?!?! I’m in Japan and while the sushi is excellent, not a cupcake to be had. There is cake, of course, but it is not in miniature form and therefore sub-standard. If I won this, I would be making cupcakes every single day to make up for 12 years worth of un-eaten cupcakes. Also, my 4 year old daughter needs to learn the joy of cupcakes and other tiny food.

    i “liked” plugged into cooking!
now, you ask what i would do with this if i won? i would wrap it up, put it under the tree, and then on christmas morning, i would unwrap it and shout with joy (now, some may say what’s the fun of unwrapping a gift if you already know what it is……i STILL try to find out what my gifts are and i will hunt them down until i find out – i need to know how i’m going to react to the gift because if i don’t like it, i still want to act like i do :-) ).

I would love to have the BabyCakes Cupcake maker! I’m sure that I would use it for our upcoming housewarming party- especially since it bakes in so little time. It would also be awesome to have this since my husband loves pies but, I can’t help him finish an entire pie- miniature pies that I could bake for desert after dinner one night and then stick them into his lunches sounds like the perfect answer. Thanks for the chance to win this amazing cupcake maker.

I would so give this to my 7 year old daughter, Grayce, for Christmas. We’ve decided that this year we are going to try to not buy a bunch of over priced, crappy toys for Christmas, but to give them gifts that can be played with during family time or that they actually have to use their imaginations with. Grayce got an easy bake oven a couple of years ago, was super-duper excited, made a little cake, tasted it and promptly spit it out. Then she asked why everything she baked in it tasted terrible (and believe me it does). Soooo, that’s what I’d do with it if I were to win.

So my plan is to make mini cupcakes and other delicious mini treats with my 2 daughters and maybe gain like 12 pounds or so?? And if I win, her name will be Duchess Catherine… I’m just sayin. LOVE your site! Thanks for always making me laugh.

Well, for one thing, I can totally envision the all day Football watching marathons with my husband blissfully eating some tasty little creations using this gadget! While I dance around the kitchen in a bright pink apron twirling and twirling while my 4 year old laughs at me. Secondly, I would make enough cupcakes for the next ten classroom birthday parties for my daughter! Thirdly, I would create happy little pies for me! Apple? Cherry? meat? YES all of them!!! Thank you for hosting the giveaway!

I live in less that 185 total square feet. This small space has a kitchenette, but no oven and very little storage space. A Babycakes Cupcake Maker would allow me to create mini breads and treats that I have been longing for over the past few years that I have been without an oven. The small size of the Babycakes Cupcake Maker would allow me to incorporate it into my minimalist kitchen and then dream up fun healthy recipes featuring local ingredients for scones, quiches, holiday treats and more!

I bake cupcakes very often. So much so that my 19 month old waits eagerly for a bite. He’s getting to the age where patience is not a virtue….he can hardly wait for them to cook or cool and he loses patience when he can’t eat a whole cupcake like mommy. He doesn’t want little bites!!! I would use the Babycakes Maker to *quickly* cook him some baby cupcakes so he could have one of his very own…in reccord time.

What would I do with the Babycakes Cupcake Maker? I would use it to make the world a better place. Seriously. Let me tell you a little story.

My best friend has a 5-year-old nephew named Noah. Noah is amazing; he’s squirmy and happy and loves to laugh, just like any other 5-year-old boy. But unlike most boys his age, Noah can’t talk. Or walk. Or sit up. Or even feed himself. Although he is undiagnosed, Noah is severely handicapped and requires constant and specialized care. And despite the fact that his mother works full time at a job that provides health insurance and his aunt has given up her career as a teacher to work full-time as his home-health aide (taking a MAJOR pay cut as a result), Noah’s care requirements far exceed the limitations of the family’s insurance and income. And so the entire family–Noah’s mother, aunt, and grandparents–as well as many of their family friends (including myself) are constantly organizing fundraising events to hlep cover his additional costs. One of the most frequent and successful ventures we do is the Bake Sale.

And how great would it be if I could give them something like this to help make such a popular bake-sale item? And it looks like it’s so easy to use that even the other children could help prepare for our next sale. That’s what I would call win-win.

HOWEVER, this is just all over the “cuteness” factor and I am IN. Hook, line and sinker. Its doll like too. I’m not even a huge cupcake eater, just sayin. Again, this is just soooo cute. Let me just say. I am way way way older than you are and I loved the Jetsons when loving the Jetsons wasn’t cool. My absolute favorite cartoon on Saturday morning. Loved the flying modes of transportation and the funny dialogue between George and Mr. Spacely. What’s better than a boy and his dog, even in space? Can’t imagine! ANYWAY, thanks for the fun….I would love to win your contest and have this darling little pink toy to bake and share fun! Mostly, George was such a sweet Daddy, don’t you think?

I would give this away as a Christmas gift. Who would depend on how hard it is to use. I would either give it to my niece with strict orders that she can only use it with her mom or just give it my mom.

Figuring that a third blog comment will do the trick…. here we go. Here is what I would do with the aforementioned prize should I be lucky enough to be gifted with the said prize.

I would give it away to a worthy friend. I work part-time in a bakery with a wide variety of folks. One girl who is a college student comes to mind. She is whimsical, funny and loves big bows in her hair. She is from the south and complete with southern affect and charm. This would be a perfect gift. She is also a whiz bang at decorating cakes. Don’t you think she would love it?

I would love to say I would keep it for myself, because that would be very, very tempting. However, I would give it to my mama. She has lost her love of baking (Shock! I know!) She still has to work full time so she no longer bakes anymore and I think if I gave her this handy little machine, she would slowly start baking again because of the ease of it and because everyone LOVES cupcakes in my family so it’s kind of a win win for all involved! And, they are small so it’s easier for “test tasting”! ;)

She doesn’t understand why it’s ok for me to put things in the oven, and not her, no matter how many times I try to tell her. With this Babycakes Cupcake maker, she would think it was her own little oven and it’s her favorite color – PINK! I would love to be able to make cupcakes with my daughter with this! Best of luck to everyone who enters!! :)

I would give this to my husband. I have been pretty much bed bound for a while because of pain and illness for the last two years and unable to do any if the cooking or baking. I have a three year old daughter and she lives deserts especially cupcakes but my husband doesn’t do well with the oven. Eat slot of dozen meals or spaghetti. That’s most he can do. At least he can’t really screw this up and a great daughter and daddy project also easier for me on the days I can move around more. So all he has to learn is to read the directions on the box.

Thanks for the great idea! I just got one for my mom for Christmas, as I never win these giveaways. If I do win, I’d keep one for myself. :)

Question: Do regular mini-cupcake liners work in this machine? Babycakes charges almost $20 to ship a $2 item to Canada.

There is a 15 year (and one day) age difference with me and my sister, so there isn’t a whole lot in common between us. But our love of baking has brought us together in so many ways. Once a month we break out all the recipes we’ve collected and get to it. We love to donate a lot to the charity my sister’s sorority sponsors. We’ve recently turned our attention to decoration and coming up with cool cupcake ideas. This would be perfect since we spend so much time baking and cooling. Thanks so much!

The name itself is worthy of wanting one of these bad babies. Babycakes? so cute. I would like to try mini quiches, along with lots of other mini treats, such as mini buttermilk pies, mini muffins (my baby’s favorite), mini cupcakes for my mini niece, many many other mini things. I wouldn’t give it as a gift, but keep it for myself and bless others with my many mini treats I would dream up. :)

And I would let my dog, Baby Ruth lick the beaters from the mixer during the 6 minutes the cupcakes were baking. THEN I would put on my tiara, leftover from my Royal Wedding Slumber Party and Baby Ruth and I would have a pink sparkly cupcake eating contest. The End.

I am trying to figure out a healthy way to make Samosas, if this can do mini pies, it just might work for those as well. If that fails, I have a recipe for Ginger brownies that I am dying to try as a mini cupcake.

Everyone raves about them and this cupcake maker would make it much easier to make tons of cupcakes for all the stressed out law students-especially with finals coming up!

What a fantastic gadget. Instant cupcakes? How cool is that? If I won this (and I hope I win), I would definitely keep it. To begin, I would definitely use it for individual pies for Christmas dinner. My guests will think I am SO talented …hee hee hee. Of course, my family and I will have to have a contest to see who can make the yummiest cupcakes. A task I will happily endure. :D

Best of all since hubby comes home for lunch every day, we can have hot fresh desserts ready to share without spending hours doing it. No wait … even better … or maybe in a tie for best of all, we can bake cupcakes to our hearts delight all summer long … even in a heatwave without heating up the house. See that? It’s economical too. :D (I really hope I win.)

Thanks for this wonderful chance to win!

    Hugs,

This would be better than the time I got an Easy Bake Oven… I was a sophomore in High School, so what?!? LOL :) I’d definitely keep it, much to the hubster’s chagrin. My favorite chocolate frosting comes from Hershey’s cocoa, here it comes , it is so dang good(I like putting it on graham crackers!):

    “PERFECTLY CHOCOLATE” CHOCOLATE FROSTING

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine
    2/3 cup HERSHEY’S Cocoa
    3 cups powdered sugar
    1/3 cup milk
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Melt butter. Stir in cocoa. Alternately add powdered sugar and milk, beating to spreading consistency.
Add small amount additional milk, if needed. Stir in vanilla. About 2 cups frosting.

I’ve had my eye on the Babycakes machine for a while now. My daughter is a stay-at-home Mom and a great baker. She’s always looking for creative ways to include my grandsons (ages 4 & 1) into helping out in the kitchen…and I think this would be just the thing.

Unfortunately, I’ve fallen on hard times and recently lost my house. I was able to get another job, but had to move in with my daughter and her family. It’s a tight fit – 3 adults, 2 kids, and a couple of doggies — but so far we are managing. I actually took the baby’s room and he moved into the master bedroom with my daughter and son-in-law.

I’d love to win this so I could give it to her for Christmas. She deserves it!

Oh my goodness, what wouldn’t I do with the machine?! We have a lot of bake-sale fundraising we do at school. I would also use it for the small groups that I go to on a weekly basis. I have four roommates so it’s always fun to bless them with goodies every once in a while. But I have fourteen friends getting married so maybe I should give it to one of them as a wedding gift? There are so many options!

I had an internship in NYC over the summer and become OBSESSED with cupcakes. Literally, obsessed. I think we tried every single cupcake shop in the city. We practically became cupcake connoisseurs. Anyway, by the time I got back to the middle of Missouri where cupcakes shops don’t exist, I had withdraws. I’ve been baking my own cupcakes, but all I never think to cut them in half and I end up having dozens…and end up eating them all. SO. I would love to own this Babycakes Cupcake Maker so I can bake bite-sized cupcakes — better for me, and much easier to share :)

At the time of this entry, there are 890 comments. That’s a lot of reading! Here’s what I suggest: block out a day, don your cozies, grab a cup of hot chocolate (with marshmallows, of course–and while grabbing, be careful not to burn yourself), snuggle up with your laptop before a roaring fire, and go straight to my entry (#891??). I’m not really selfish, but I do have needs–and I NEED little itty bitty cupcakes made with this adorable Babycakes Cupcake Maker. I am a baby fanatic! I love all babies–baby people (my very favorite, I have to say!), baby animals, those tiny samples of lotion, baby’s breath . . . I promise to treasure my pink portion of preciousness and treat it with the respect it deserves. PLUS, I could make the most awesome little goodies for my church kids who will love me forever!

    Just sayin’ . . .

I would keep it for myself, however, I’d make little goodies for all my friends, family & neighbors. It really is perfect timing for the holidays. Little baskets of mini muffins, how freaking cute would that be!! :D

It’s so perfect for when you just want to make a few cupcakes to feed a couple friends and not have 12 leftovers sitting on your counter after they leave. Because they don’t last very long with this gal around…

Hmmm, first one would probably be hersheys chocolate cake with a mocha frosting or a chocolate cinnamon frosting. Yum. I think there is no flavor that goes better with chocolate than cinnamon. It’s kind of amazing.
