Halloween!! Halloween!!

So guess what?

It’s almost Halloween time!!

And since Halloween is right around the corner, I thought we’d recap some of the mad delicious  treats I’ve whipped up so you can get your bake on this weekend.

Unless you’re like me, and already have your house fully decorated complete with fake spiderwebs, tons of decorated cupcakes, a punchbowl of cider and a caramel apple bar for the kids.

Sike.  I just have lots of candy in a bowl that looks like a skeleton is holding it.

Let’s review.

Melted Witches.  Cute, easy and so fun!!

(Coincidentally, my Melted Witches are nominated for Yummly’s Halloween Recipe Awards…if you had a second to go vote for me… I would wait patiently right here)

Caramel Apple Pop Cupcakes.  You heard me.  It’s a real thing.

Jack Skellington Cupcakes.  Bonus alert!! That post has cute photos of my kid.  I should charge you extra for that, but consider it my gift to you.  You are welcome, sirs and ma’ams.

Brains in a Jar.  A woman left me a mean comment about how awful it is that I encourage kids to eat fake organs.  I was all, “What are you, ZOMBIE PREJUDICED??  Also, do you EVER read my blog???  Because if you did, it wouldn’t surprise you that I’m feeding kids fake blood.  The end.”

Eyeball Truffles.  These ones are gross too.  If the mean brain lady scrolled down and saw this post, I bet she probably REALLY started hating me so bad.

Witches Cauldrons.  I bet you thought that was poisonous brew in there, but you’ll be relieved to know that it’s just pudding.

Glam Witch Cupcakes.  They sparkle!!  Also, in that post there is a photo of me as a kid, with my very word kidemy (kid frenemy).

Halloween Candy Brownies.  Three good words, all in one title!!  Also, I got a really mean comment on this post from a guy who called me a man hater.  Then I asked my husband “do I hate you?” and he was like “no” and I was like “well that man is a liar then” and I deleted his comment.  And ate a brownie in his honor.

And last but not least:

Candy Corn Meringues.  So light and airy, they actually burn calories when you eat them!!  So I ate twenty.  It was the toughest workout I’ve had in quite some time.

So, there you go.  The longest post in all of the land.  Hope you enjoyed the trip down Halloween Dessert Memory Lane.

Have a fabulous Friday!! Thanks so much for reading.

Thanks for reading!! I put lots of love into this post, so if you enjoyed it, please leave a comment, share, or subscribe. (As you can probably tell, I'm in constant need of validation, so this keeps me from questioning my self worth and crying into a box of wine) If, by some chance, you didn't enjoy the post, take it up with my personal zombie ninja.
About Kristan
I’m a proud housewife with a son in the second grade and a sweet baby girl. Like most little boys, my son funny and cute but a little weird. Which only makes me love him more. And the baby? Well...I know she'll sleep eventually. If I could, I would paint my life pink, sprinkle it with glitter, and give everyone a cupcake.

So would it be bad if I made all of these over the weekend and ate them all myself? ‘Cause I kind of want to.

If I had a 10th of your talent, I’d be a really happy woman. Don’t get me wrong; I’m pretty content with my weak imitation of your prowess but to be able to whip up these beautiful and delicious desserts on a regular basis would be amazing. Please blog on!

You seem to know kids who are way more fun than the kids I know. I made pull-apart cupcake pizzas for my boys’ birthday parties and the kids were afraid to eat them because they look too much like real pizzas. If I showed up with these, I fear they’d all run screaming from the room! ; )

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that your melted witches inspired me to do a life size one for an outdoor Halloween decorating contest at work. I work at a residential facility for adults & children with developmental disabilities. When I showed the adults that I work with, they got very excited. They painted a large circle of fabric with swirls of green paint, added a broom and witch hat. We decided to add a pumpkin head with a picture of my supervisor’s face on it. It was hysterical! Luckily my supervisor has a great sense of humor! We were given an award for best use of humor in our display. So thank you for the inspiration…your idea gave some very special people & all the staff a great time.

what dummies that would post something mean!
fact – your posts are yummy (I have made several of them, so I know)
fact – you have cute pictures
fact – you post consistently, which is HUGE for food blogging.

    I love your hilarious blog.
PS after your brains in a jar post I went to eat organs but they smelt bad, so I ate fake brains instead. I think kids would make the same judgement call.
