Cupcake Milkshake

I finally saw the last Harry Potter movie the other night.

I think I cried at least seventeen times while I was watching it.

And then when it was over and we got home I was all wanting to talk about how special it was and how my heart was hurting but my husband was all, “I’m confused…wasn’t that EXACTLY the same as the LAST Harry Potter movie we saw?”

And I was like, “seriously, you aren’t even human. It was a cinematic masterpiece. I will be completely devastated for at least the next hundred years. It’s OVER. OVER!!”

Then my husband did that thing where he pretends to listen to me but I can tell that he really isn’t. He’s probably thinking about survival skills, or tool boxes or whatever section of the brain men retreat to when they don’t know how to deal with a COMPLETELY REASONABLE WOMAN.

I realize that Harry Potter and all that magic wizardey stuff isn’t for everyone, but as a mom, I can assure you that magic really does have it’s place in life.

Just ask my son, who thinks that a wizard lives in our fax machine and the ATM works by scanning your fingertips to see how cool you are and awards money accordingly.

Seriously, so convenient. I mean…try explaining money and electronic debits and how paper information is scanned and travels by wire to a 6 year old.

Or me, for that matter because honestly I still don’t understand it

.

Magic is such a simpler way of explaining things. Funner too.

Anyways, right now, I really wish I WAS magic because America is on fire. Like, the hot kind of fire.  It’s 108 here and completely miserable.

Soooo….I made milkshakes. Want one?

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 cup milk

2 TBS funfetti or plain white cake mix

1/4 cup canned vanilla frosting

1 cup vanilla ice cream

Sprinkles and whipped cream, for garnish

Layer ingredients in your blender as listed above (minus the sprinkles and whipped cream). Blend until frothy and well mixed. Pour into a glass and garnish with whipped cream and sprinkles.

Makes 1 large or 2 small shakes.

Want to make the cute little cupcakes to go on top? They are super easy and require NO baking!! You can find the tutorial HERE on a previous post.

If you need me, I’ll be in the corner crying and mourning the end of the Harry Potter series.

But on a good note, I have a new celebrity crush–Neville Longbottom!! Who knew?!

Have a wonderful Monday full of Magic and Milkshakes!!

About Kristan
I’m a proud housewife with a son in the second grade and a sweet baby girl. Like most little boys, my son funny and cute but a little weird. Which only makes me love him more. And the baby? Well...I know she'll sleep eventually. If I could, I would paint my life pink, sprinkle it with glitter, and give everyone a cupcake.

Love your humor. I am a huge Harry Potter freak, and I completely understand. Some people just don’t get it. I went the Friday night after it opened, and the people behind me laughed every time someone important died. They just sat and talked about how stupid the movie was. That was the closest that I have come to having to whoop up on somebody in a theater. Respect the Harry Potter!
This recipe looks fantastic. One trip to the grocery store and I am all over these.

I’m with you on Harry Potter. I’ve spent the last 10 years waiting for the movie, and the last five months or so tearing up anytime I heard/saw a trailer or commercial. I was holding back tears while my best friends and I were waiting in line for the 12:01 show. I still cried pretty much from the beginning to the end, because you’re right. It’s OVER. Now what am I supposed to look forward to?

My husband is the same way about Harry Potter! He refuses to read any of the books because he says they make people “weird,” but watches all of the movies multiple times & always asks me to fill in the bits they don’t have time to fully explain. Oh, & he also has this weird theory about how if he were Voldemort he would horcrux the moon so that people had to decide whether they wanted to kill him or keep the tides & all those other moon-dependent things. THEN he tells me I’m lame for getting so attached to the characters. Pa-shaw, that’s what I say to that. (Still haven’t seen the final film because we just moved to a new city & don’t know anyone who can babysit.)

108?! Geez Louise. (Actually I used a four letter word — and I NEVER swear — just keeping it clean for your readers.) I live in San Francisco and will never move because I’m deathly afraid of weather. I was in Las Vegas recently where it was 106 degrees F. I only walked from my air-conditioned car to the lobby of the air-conditioned hotel (20 steps?) and almost died. When I inhaled it was the same as inhaling oven air. How do people do it? What happens if the electricity stops? Please, move to San Francisco where when it hits 80 degrees F I always have a milk shake for dinner. Because 80 degrees F is soooo unbelievably hot.

After following your blog for a few years, I finally made a recipe that I bookmarked. Don’t ask me why it took so long. Okay well maybe it’s because I didn’t want to share and maybe because I also knew I’d probably have to! Anyhoosely, this was the very first recipe I made off of your blog and it was the best milkshake I have ever had. I made some for the kids too and they also gobbled them up and have been asking for another since then. Thank you so much for sharing!
