Valentine Bear Cupcakes
I love Valentine’s Day.
Everything is pink and sparkly and full of hearts, sugar, and love.
Pretty much the way things should be all the time, if you ask me.
Know something else?
Valentines Day is full of teddy bears.
So of course, I made you some Valentine Bear Cupcakes.
Wanna know how to make them?
You need Whoppers and Rolos. One per bear. Stick them together using chocolate frosting or melted chocolate (which is what I did).
Form two arms from a Tootsie Roll, and use what is left of the Tootsie Roll to make two feet and two ears. I just rolled balls for the feet and smaller ones for ears. One Tootsie Roll is plenty for a bear.
Using your frosting or melted chocolate, attach the feet and ears.
Attach a black sugar pearl for the nose and white confetti sprinkles for eyes. I used a black food writer to draw dots on the eyes and a mouth. You could totally use different sprinkles/candies for the eyes/nose, those are just what I had on hand.
Attach a sugar heart to the belly with melted chocolate, and stick arms on the side so the hands come around and hold the heart.
Now stick that sweet bear on top of a frosted cupcake.
So listen….I know that these bears may seem a bit labor intensive. But don’t let that stop you from making them. Being cool isn’t always easy, okay? If it was, everyone would do it.
All of the decorating materials I used, from the sugar hearts to the sprinkles and black food writers can be found at Sweet! Baking Supply. Click on over there and check out all the cute baking stuff!!
Happy Thursday and thanks for stopping by!!

Thanks for visiting my blog! I realize you could be doing more important things with your time. Like watching the news or washing socks. I hope you stay awhile. Much more fun than socks, I promise.

This is the sweetest cupcake I've seen. That bear is just so darn cute and cuddly looking I just want to eat him up. Good thing he's part of a beautiful cupcake. Great tutorial and awesome photos!
Those bears are adorable!! I may not make the cupcakes but I definitely think the bear is on my list.
Absolutely love it! Might do it on a pink heart cookie! Thanks so much for sharing this!
So cute! I might use a couple of the conversation hearts instead. That could work, right?
O, these are just TOO CUTE!!! How clever!!!
Ok, at the risk of sounding too much like a blog stalker….This is soo adorable I have to do them!! You so rock!! (Ok, containing myself now!)
Cute, those are like something in the Hello Cupcake books
These are SO adorable, Kristan! It's true, I do love that everything is all pink and cute this time of year! :-)

Tootsie Rolls and Rolos? I am in! These look amazingly adorable!!!
I'm jealous of that tootsie bear for sitting on that perfect, puffy buttercream pillow. Your piping makes mine look like a Jackson Pollack painting.
Those are so cute, I love it because my nieces won't eat the fondant and who doesn't like Rolos and Tootsie rolls?? Thanks for the idea!
These are absolutely adorable!

Wow!! I cannot believe this! When I first spotted these, I thought “Cute, but a little complicated”. I am so wonderfully surprised, and can hardly wait to get started! Thanks so much for posting!
What a cute idea as an alternative to fondant/gum paste! I use fondant usually, but I imagine that this combo would taste much better!
