Valentine Bear Cupcakes

VBear 2

I love Valentine’s Day.

Everything is pink and sparkly and full of hearts, sugar, and love.

Pretty much the way things should be all the time, if you ask me.

Know something else?

Valentines Day is full of teddy bears.

So of course, I made you some Valentine Bear Cupcakes.

Wanna know how to make them?

VBear 4

You need Whoppers and Rolos. One per bear. Stick them together using chocolate frosting or melted chocolate (which is what I did).

VBear 3

Form two arms from a Tootsie Roll, and use what is left of the Tootsie Roll to make two feet and two ears. I just rolled balls for the feet and smaller ones for ears. One Tootsie Roll is plenty for a bear.

VBear 5

Using your frosting or melted chocolate, attach the feet and ears.

VBear 7

Attach a black sugar pearl for the nose and white confetti sprinkles for eyes. I used a black food writer to draw dots on the eyes and a mouth. You could totally use different sprinkles/candies for the eyes/nose, those are just what I had on hand.

VBear 8

Attach a sugar heart to the belly with melted chocolate, and stick arms on the side so the hands come around and hold the heart.

VBear 1

Now stick that sweet bear on top of a frosted cupcake.

So listen….I know that these bears may seem a bit labor intensive. But don’t let that stop you from making them. Being cool isn’t always easy, okay? If it was, everyone would do it.

All of the decorating materials I used, from the sugar hearts to the sprinkles and black food writers can be found at Sweet! Baking Supply. Click on over there and check out all the cute baking stuff!!

Happy Thursday and thanks for stopping by!!

About Kristan
I’m a proud housewife with a son in the second grade and a sweet baby girl. Like most little boys, my son funny and cute but a little weird. Which only makes me love him more. And the baby? Well...I know she'll sleep eventually. If I could, I would paint my life pink, sprinkle it with glitter, and give everyone a cupcake.

This is the sweetest cupcake I've seen. That bear is just so darn cute and cuddly looking I just want to eat him up. Good thing he's part of a beautiful cupcake. Great tutorial and awesome photos!

I'm jealous of that tootsie bear for sitting on that perfect, puffy buttercream pillow. Your piping makes mine look like a Jackson Pollack painting.
