Night Eyes Tuxedo Cupcakes

night eyes

I’ve seriously had it with the scary movie industry making me terrified of small children.

And empty swings with squeaky chains that blow ever so slightly in the night time breeze.

I have a swing set in my yard, okay?

I might as well have a neon sign above my house that says “hollow-eyed ghost children welcome”.

Plus, I don’t know what it is about creepy ghost children, but they never wear like, leather jackets or hooded sweatshirts. It’s always those knee length socks and old fashioned jumpsuits.

It’s unsettling.

When I was pregnant with my son, I made the mistake of watching that movie with Greg Kinnear, where they adopt that kid but he has  a ghost person inside of him and he wants to kill his adoptive parents.

And really, it was disturbing. Because it definitely takes a particular type of evil to want to kill Greg Kinnear.

That man is not only funny, but also completely charming.

After watching that movie, I suddenly remembered that I was pregnant with a baby that would one day grow into a young man.

And I was totally frightened.

As far as I was concerned, I was quite possibly feeding prenatal vitamins to an evil Greg Kinnear murdering machine.

It took me a few days to accept the fact that my baby would probably be sweet and loving and kind, and if he wasn’t I would just sit him down with You’ve Got Mail and make see the error of his ways.

Plus, I made sure that knee socks were banned from my house. Just in case.

I’m pretty sure that children are unable to be ghostly and evil without them.

And so far, so good.

For those of you who plan on being safe and sound on Halloween and not running from a ghost child in a old fashioned nightgown who is wordlessly pointing down a long dark hallway (and really–I never rule that out), I made you some cupcakes.

You might even share them with your kids. If you trust them.

A little while back, I made Tuxedo Cupcakes. For these, you are going to follow the directions exactly, the only difference being that you will add purple (or orange…or lime green) gel coloring to your whipped cream. I added the color BEFORE I whipped the cream with my mixer.

Add black gel coloring to your chocolate glaze if it isn’t dark enough for you, and top it with some candy eyes.

Click here for the Tuxedo Cupcake recipe.

I bought the candy eyes at Bake It Pretty, click HERE to purchase some of your own.

I really love Tuxedo Cupcakes–they are so yummy and very easy to put together.

Enjoy!!

Happy Tuesday!!

**I’m linking these up to Hoosier Homemade’s Cupcake Tuesday. Head over and check out all the cupcakes and link up some of your own!!

About Kristan
I’m a proud housewife with a son in the second grade and a sweet baby girl. Like most little boys, my son funny and cute but a little weird. Which only makes me love him more. And the baby? Well...I know she'll sleep eventually. If I could, I would paint my life pink, sprinkle it with glitter, and give everyone a cupcake.

I am so with you on the scary kid thing and I am so glad I'm not the only one noticing this trend. I went into a halloween store (Alone because they are psycho!) to buy my kids costumes this weekend, and I could not believe my eyes.

There seems to be a beyond normal imbalance this year of horrifying yard decor on sale of small children and even babies with insane eyes, vampire teeth, deranged expressions, and blood covered hands and bodies.

I bought my 5T red riding hood and 2T T-Rex costumes as fast as I could, and got the heck out of there.

These cupcakes look really kewl :-) Though I don´t know if I would eat them – I am not keen on my food staring at me *giggles*
Oh, btw I made your coffee cake yesterday. It is really tasty :-)
I just covered it with a chocolate ganache, because the crumbs became way to hard (guess that was my fault). Chocolate just solves every problem ^.^
I made some picture, but since I am a lazy bump, I will write a blog entry about this cake … uhm .. let´s say.. in near future.
(I also guess that I was to generous with the cinnamon, for the cake tastes very much like christmas .. but that is a good thing anway, I love christmas.)
So, greetings from Germany and have a nice day :-)

I want those candy eyeballs…………..my grandkids get them on Ice Cream in the state where they live. It's a 'thing' there. Every ice cream shop puts eyeballs on their ice cream. Grandma doesn't have eyeballs for my house…….sigh

YUM! I am really wanting some cake of some kind right now. One of these days, I might just pop over there and grab a bite or two, or the whole thing!

I am not a scary movie lover. I just understand how being scared is entertaining, but some love it.
I DO however, love these cupcakes! Very cute idea!
Thanks for sharing these fun cupcakes on Cupcake Tuesday!

Those are so cute! I love the eyeballs. But I don't know this horror movie. Have you ever seen the Omen? It is so amazing and made me terrified of children. It was fantastic cause I was working in a kindergarten at the time.

I sooooo can't watch scary movies at night. Or by myself. And there is no chance in H E double-hockey-sticks that I'm going to be watching a scary movie at night by myself!!
Thanks to the very few I HAVE seen (during the daytime while cutting off the circulation in hubby's hand with my death-grip), I am afraid of static on the TV, dark hallways, and dripping water…
But cupcakes cure everything, right?? : )

How could I have mentioned the new look yesterday? :-) It wasn´t there.
I just stumbled over here and first thing I have noticed was "Like whaaaaaaaaaat? A new layout? Cool."
But I am sure it was not there when I wrote my comment yesterday.
Or I suffer from heavy amnesia :-D But I don´t think so .. I still know my name and stuff.
Well, it really is a kewl new design! Love those little facebook and twitter buttons.
    Have a nice day :-)

I LOVE your new look, Kristan! The header is so cute! Love the look of the cupcakes too…the smooth dark chocolate against the purple. I already have some eyes on hand, so just maybe…
BTW, I never watch those creepy movies involving kids-Yikes!

    Very fun cupcakes!
Ya know what gets me is the scary music. I can't even hear "Mr. Sandman" w/o looking over my shoulder and breaking into a run!!

Hey! Love the new layout design!!

    So, so fun, Kristan!!!

I don't watch scary movies for this very reason. I'm still a little freaked out from Poltergeist.
